The Lazy Swan Golf & Country Club
Played On 10/10/2016Windy Day
Played today in the wind. Greens were nice but the fairways are really bad. This is sad because it was a nice course in the past. Fortunately, we got a bargain basement rate through Golf Now, but there was confusion in the office. Bring your receipt because they don't have a clue what is going on and would have turned me away. Fortunately, they got us out - but it's always something with these guys.
The Links at Hiawatha Landing
Played On 06/13/2016Windy Day at the Links
I played this course during a NYSGA event. Pace was slow but this was not the fault of the course - I believe that during normal play it would be just fine. It is relatively easy to find errant shots - it's wide open so pace of play probably isn't an issue. Course was in very good shape except for the bunkers which were hard and in need of a refill. Maybe this is standard for the course - but I didn't like it and given the number of bunkers a factor in play. Practice facilities are above average and a pleasure to utilize. Kudos on this factor, alone. It was very windy on the day that we played and it does come into play. I would definitely like to play this course, again.
The Lazy Swan Golf & Country Club
Played On 08/29/2015Needs some work
A once fine course continues to decline. Greens continue to be some of the best around but fairways are showing wear while tee boxes and cart paths are shabby and neglected. Additionally, play was impacted by wedding preparations on the #10 tee box. Management needs to decide if they are a wedding facility or a golf course.
Apache Stronghold Golf Course
Played On 12/25/2014worth the drive
This is a unique course with a big personality. I played Christmas day so I had the course to myself. The GPS on the carts is essential as green to tee is not well marked. Fairways were in good condition for the time of year. Greens putted well.
Stonecreek Golf Club
Played On 12/23/2014Nice course with plenty of challenge
I last played this course ten years ago and it has aged gracefully. In great condition. Two areas of concern. Hitting off mats at the driving range - boo. And a starter at the tee box would help to notify golfers of daily conditions and requirements. I was paired up with very recreational golfers and it was left to me to tell them about cart path only, speeding up play, etc. Keeping them in line was a drag on my game.
Bear Creek Golf Complex - Bear Course
Played On 12/22/2014Good value
This course was a pleasant surprise from the get go. For starters, their driving range and practice facilities are wonderful. Greens roll great and are better than most high end courses. Well kept in general. Layout is challenging from . A variety of tee boxes.
Fillmore Golf Club
Played On 06/15/2014It is what it is.
Course appears to be experiencing difficult times. Equipment is vintage and in need of updating. Fairways are overgrown with weeds and in need of mowing. However, greens are generally well kept and roll well. Tee boxes are so, so. Yellow and red tee boxes are very slim and not level.
Lansbrook Golf Club
Played On 12/08/2013Good Value for the Money
This course is challenging for mid-handicappers. Greens are well maintained. Fairways are in good shape despite heavy play. Carts are clean and in good repair. Golfers are courteous.
Wentworth Golf Club
Played On 12/2/2013Great Value
On vacation, I played an early morning tee time as a single. Greens and fairways were in great condition. This course requires a great degree of accuracy and skilled bunker play. I thought it was excellent value for the money paid.
I have no clue what she is talking about. The course is in great shape, with the exception of the aerification, which is needed. This isn't the 1st negative post from this golfer, but she's here all the time????
