Turnberry Country Club
Played On 08/28/2020Nice Course but............
Actually only played the front 9, had to leave before able to play the back. So this review is on the front 9 only.
The course was in great shape. The layout was beautiful with plenty of trees. Staff was friendly and mostly helpful and I really needed help finding my way around. A few more signs would have helped. Nothing at the parking lot to indicate which way to go to the pro shop. I asked another golfer and he said he had no idea, he was looking for it too. I spotted some doors near where I parked but they were locked. The bag drop area could have been closer to the parking lot. And there didn't seem to be any direct route from where you picked up the cart to the bag drop. I had to park the cart on a cart path down a hill from where the bag drop was. I'm glad the grass. The practice range was very good but nothing telling you how far you were from the various flags. There was a metal plaque in the ground that said 100, 150 and 200 but it didn't say what those distances were to.
The golfing was good but the preliminaries left something to be desired.
Sandy Hollow Golf Course
Played On 08/24/2018Awesome course
First time player, hope to have many more opportunities. Drove over an hour to get here. Chose this course based on Golf Advisor ratings, 4.5 out of 5. And I was not disappointed. Course was in great shape and beautiful. Challenging but fair. Numerous elevation changes add to the beauty of the course. Staff was very friendly. Played with a friend and we both decided we would definitely come back again.

Have played this course before and liked it. Holes 5 and 6 particularly tough for me. Always a challenge but fair.
Ahwatukee Country Club
Played On 04/23/2017Needs some work
Some of the greens were spotty, fairways barren in spots, course generally not in good shape but for the money, you get what you pay for. Staff was nice.
Hi "gmoday" Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We appreciate your patience as the course is still transitioning into the summer.
Village Green Country Club
Played On 07/27/2016Take it or leave it
This is kind of a rinky-dink course, okay for a beginning golfer but not for someone who is real serious about the game. The fairways were spotty, the greens were full of unrepaired ball marks. Generally speaking not very well maintained in my opinion. At one time was purchased by Mundelein School District for possible expansion per the course website.
Chevy Chase Country Club
Played On 06/16/2016Nice course
Course was in great shape. Used to play in a league at Chevy. Staff always personable, course well maintained.
Crystal Woods Golf Club
Played On 06/03/2016Challenging course
Course was in good shape, usually is. Guy at the desk was the course pro, friendly and helpful. Had to go outside the pro shop to another building for restrooms and locker. No big deal but something different. Terrain on the course provides challenges. Hole 12 has been reputed to be the toughest par 4 in the county. Not overly long from tips, 6410. Fun course.
St. Andrews Golf & Country Club - Joe Jemsek Course
Played On 07/12/2015St. Andrew, Jemsek course
Played on a Sunday afternoon. Finished in 4.5 hours. Course was in great condition, Fairways and greens. Course was fair, nice traps, not much water until the last 2 holes. Cost was $34 on GolfNow. JJ's was nice place to eat afterwards. I will be going again, even though it is an hour drive from my house.
Shepherd's Crook Golf Course
Played On 07/19/2014Played before, will play again
Play this course at least once a year. 75 miles from my home round trip. Course is always in good condition. Nice range of holes from 150 to 654. Yes, 654 from tips on #14. Primarily a links course with a few parkland holes thrown in for variety.
Chalet Hills Golf Club
Played On 07/16/2014Beautiful but challenging course
I've played this course 11 times now and am a 16 HDCP. It took the 11th try to finally break 90. It is a very picturesque course but lots of opportunities for trouble. The 9th and 18th are doglegs around a central lake/pond, 14 is a par 4 with a tight fairway to a shallow island green. The first 4 holes are good warm-up holes, then 5,6,7 are potential disasters.
I wouldn't recommend it for a high handicapper unless you're out for the scenery.
Highland Woods Golf Course
Played On 07/09/2014Won't go back.
5:20 round on a sunny day with not cart restrictions is ridiculous. Some of the greens were patched so green speeds were inconsistent. Fairway grass was spotty and bare in some cases. Except for Kelly the cart girl, staff was argumentative or apathetic. For $20 it seemed like a good deal unti we played. For a beginner or inexperienced golfer the course might be okay, but if you play the game with any regularity, forget it.
Scenic View Country Club
Played On 07/04/2014Great value on golf now
This course lives up to its name. There are a lot of scenic views on the course. The first and 10th tees are highly elevated overlooking the fairway below. The fairways are inviting in most cases with the exception of 16 and 18 where trees significantly narrow your tee shot The course seemed well taken care of and the greens were fast. As a first timer to the course I would definitely come back and play it again.
Midlane Country Club
Played On 06/14/2014Ranger needed for pace
I enjoyed playing the course. The course condition was very good and the holes were challenging. I'm a 16 handicap and played from the whites. Lots of water. But we started out with a foursome and on the second hole a fifth person joined us so we played the front nine with a five some. Even with five of us playing, we still had significant wait time on tees and in fairways.
Deerfield Golf Club
Played On 05/28/2014Nice course, huge greens
Came out with my usual foursome to play this course which we'd played a few times before. The free bucket of balls to start the round was nice. The course was in pretty good condition after a hard rain the night before. The greens are huge so plenty of 3-putt opportunities. Plenty of trees and ponds to challenge your accuracy. We had fun and enjoyed our round.
Plum Tree National Golf Club
Played On 9/1/2013This course has a lot of doglegs so if you like all your holes where you can see the green from the tee it ain't your cup o'tee.
A really nice course, well maintained with challenging holes for all levels. I'm a 15 hdcp and shot a 92 with the normal amount of bad shots. Played from 6400 yds, maybe should have moved up a tee. Electric carts are a plus to keep the noise down in a very wooded courses.
Golf Club of Illinois
Played On 7/20/2013Nice links course. Has an almost 700yd hole to challenge big hitters. Fastest golf carts in the world.
Nice course nice course nice course nice course bye
Countryside Golf Club - Prairie Course
Played On 7/12/2013I've enjoy playing this course whenever I've played it.
Good elevation changes and variety of looks throughout the course. Greens are good sized, plenty of opportunites for 3 putts. Water available on course for hot days. Course was in good shape on the day I played it. 9th hole doesn't play back into clubhouse which is a little different. They used to have a manned halfway house at the 9th where you could get hot dogs and other food items. Now just one vending machine. Played it for $17 as a hot deal on Golf Now.
