I said I would never come back to Swiss Fairways again, it was in such horrible condition! After golfing with some people who had recently played the course, they said it was in better than average shape. So a friend and I who golf at least 1/ week tried it today. It was like picking up your prom date, what an improvement; the greens could use a little work...but there is grass in the fairways now. We’ll be back!

I haven’t played the course in a while, because they have removed some obstacles (traps, indigenous grasses) and raised the prices to the point where it’s no longer a value...after the long drive. It may be convenient for the locals but they don’t have the overall facility (discounted or not) to justify what they are asking and then to charge extra for a cart if a player has a Covid-19 concern doesn’t seem hospitable!

The last time I played this course many “Improvements” were underway! Sand traps removed, some vegetation removed. Unfortunately some of the vegetation and traps removed took away atmosphere and challenges!

Cleaning out underbrush is better for player safety. Removing bunkers was counterproductive

This course is rapidly turning around, greens improving and a lot of unneeded wooded areas cleaned up. They are filling in some traps...to the detriment of play value.

We used to love the course, but then it started going down. We played today and two weeks ago, the course is coming back in shape. We friends play a course once a week and Deer Island was down around 6-7 th choice for the cost. I would put it at 3-4 now and climbing. They have removed some traps that were positioned very well.

Course wet. If you were in a trap you were in water or playing off concrete

The fairways are well maintained, the greens are as nice as any in central Florida. The greens are fast and have nice undulations but not to the point of aggravating. The number of water/facilities is better than most courses.

Options for refreshments/food at the turn could be improved. A non-alcoholic beer and premium soda selection might be considered.
