Aubrey's Dubbs Dred Golf Course
Played On 06/05/2016Nice place!
Aubrey's is a great local course. Front 9 is pretty straight forward, while the back challenges even the best of players. Overall course was is good condition, well kept for public golf. Only complaint is course markings are hard to find -red, white, and blue markers are buried on many holes. Scorecard seems accurate but the various tee boxes don't have yardage markings making the par 3s a guess off the tee.
Nice place, would recommend for others and play again.
Elk Valley Golf Course
Played On 07/06/2015Nice course!
I was pleasantly surprised by Elk Valley. I booked online through Golf Now and got a great deal.
Overall course was in very good condition for a public course. First time playing here and the course was well marked and fun to play!
I look forward to playing here again soon!
Azalea Sands Golf Course
Played On 06/16/20158 Inch Holes
Azaela Sands has been on my list of courses to play for several years, and I finally played on this vacation. I am glad I did!
I saw several reviews online speaking of the larger 8 inch holes, and heard of some courses across the country introducing the larger holes. I hope this is in the future of public golf courses.
My group, of mostly serious golfers, decided to not judge the holes before we played them and gave them a shot. Wow was it fun! And it really sped up the game! We played 18 in under 3 hours. Discussing the larger holes we equate it to how the PGA pros must feel when putting - I felt very comfortable with the 8-10 foot putts!
I encourage serious golfers and guys just out for fun to go ahead and give it a try! The larger holes gave a few more laughs during the round!
Yes, I have a handicap: 12.
Yes, I shot a 76 with bigger cups.
Yes, it was a lot of fun.
Yes, I hope other "fun" courses try this out.
No, I won't be using this round for my handicap.
Overall, it took off a few strokes, but you still have to get to the green and hit good shots.
Thank you Azaela Sands for trying something new! I look forward to returning soon!
Beachwood Golf Club
Played On 06/14/2015Good value
First time playing Beechwood. Greens were recently arrogated and made for less than ideal putting. Some greens were not under construction and those were acceptable.
Played at 11:30 am and got a fantastic deal- $15 for 18 holes w/cart. Teamed up with another solo player and we finished 18 in under 3 hours. No waiting and no rushing.
Not the best course in Myrtle, but great for a golfer on a budget. I hope to play Beechwood again when the course is in better condition.
Golf Now is great for golfers just looking to play a round.
Birdsfoot Golf Club
Played On 08/19/2014Good Time!
Played Birdsfoot several years ago in the rain and always wanted to get back to play again. Great weather this time. Starter said they had a big event the weekend before so course wasn't in perfect condition, but still considerably better than most local places.
Played for the Birdsfoot special at $25! 11:30 AM Start
Hiland Golf Course
Played On 07/25/2014Better than I remember
Hadn't played this course in several years, appears to be in much better shape overall. Well maintained and a fun day.
Beechwood Golf Club
Played On 07/10/2014Getaway from the family!
Spent the week camping with the family in Erie, PA. Found Beechwood on GolfNow and thought I would give it a shot. Great deal - played at 11:00 AM for only $10!
When staying in Erie I will definitely be playing at Beechwood again - good value and really easy to find, right on I-90.
