Eagle Trace Golf Club
Played On 04/22/2015A good time!
I booked this round on Golf Now with no knowledge of the course. It is a nice, very mature course, that winds through a subdivision, though the homes rarely come into play. It is wide, fairly flat and would be a great course for those who like to walk. There is quite a bit of water. The sand traps were not well maintained, hard and crusty, you will not to rake them because you will rarely leave a footprint! The pace was a bit slow but not aggravatingly so. Overall a pleasant round. If it wasn't so far from my home (63 miles), I would play there often. Enjoy!
Park Hill Golf Club
Played On 03/30/2015Early Spring Golf
This is a great course to get warmed up and hone your game. Not much trouble (you can't get out of), with wide fairways, mature trees and very few water hazards. Pace is good even when course is full. Especially enjoyable for seniors and high handicappers.
If you haven't played Park Hill, I highly recommend you do, soon!
Cheers!
Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills - Gold Course
Played On 10/29/2014While we're young ?
OMG ! Talk about slow play. . . We started before 2 PM and couldn't finish 15 holes! The pace of play was the worst I have ever experienced. There was absolutely no supervision or Marshals anywhere on the course. We even called the Pro Shop to complain about the group in front of us picking up (stealing) our golf balls, but we were put on hold for over 10 minutes. What an atrocious waste of time & money! Two of the Tee boxes were closed. The brake lock on the cart did not hold. I would NEVER recommend this course to anyone!
Applewood Golf Course
Played On 04/22/2014Early Season
Course was dry. Greens were punched probably 3 weeks prior (my guess), very dry and extremely SLOW. Greens need more water. Many of the 'Trouble" ares have been mowed. Pace of play was very good (surprisingly)! Overall a good early season round @ Applewood. I will be back. . .
Deer Creek Golf Club at Meadow Ranch
Played On 7/5/2013A Very challenging round of golf.
Deer Creek is a very challenging course. One MUST drive straight to avoid trouble on both sides of most fairways. Most bunkers are hard packed and seem to be covered with pebbles. Very few of the sand traps have soft sand. The greens undulate and your putting speed has to be precise to get it close. Many greens are surrounded by marshland. Club selection for distance is very important. Bring lots of extra balls.
This course is a great venue to hone your game.
Hillary, the refreshment cart girl, is lovely and a nice, pleasant, break from the pressure of the course.
Overall, an enjoyable round, even though I did score 4 snowmen!
Todd Creek Golf Club
Played On 7/1/2013Private Club amenities at a public course price.
Todd Creek is an outstanding value when you find special rates. After checking in you will be invited to warm up on their splendid practice range. Come early to take advantage of the huge pyramid of balls you will be given to hit, at your leisure, for NO EXTRA CHARGE.
Reboot the cart's GPS before you begin your round. The large Tee boxes are wonderful, with lush, soft, spongy grass. Fairways require precise driving. Sand Traps are hard packed, crusted and moist, making sand play tougher than it should be. (They should rake the traps to dry out and loosen the sand). Greens are large and hold well but there is quite a bit of damage to the greens from ill-repaired ball marks.
Overall a great day of golf ! I highly recommend it.
Sleeping Indian/Cottonwood at West Woods Golf Club
Played On 4/5/2013Double charged (?) and VERY SLOW play.....
When I got there to check in, I was charged (again) for my green fees. I explained that I had already paid Golf Now with a CC. I hope that I will not be double charged & that this will not become a hassle with Golf Now. If so, I will NOT be using the service again!
The fairways were dry with lots of hard pan and brown patches. The greens were dry and looked as if they were recently punched, more brown patches. Carts were required to stay on the cart paths making the play excruciatingly (painfully) slow and much more difficult for older players. There are virtually NO yardage markers on the course. Disappointing round from start to finish!
