Treasure Hills Golf Club
Played On 05/03/2016Very good Value
First time on this course. I have played around the southeast and Florida, and played from the whites (6400 yd). Check-in was smooth, practice areas and driving range were good, and the price was great. Course layout was interesting and only a few places that were unexpected and would have been nice to know beforehand. Greens were very good with generous size, subtle breaks, and decent speed. Pace of play was great as I was the only one in sight on a Tuesday morning. The only negative is that this is south Texas and the course was dry in many places. But I guess that is to be expected. Based on my one experience, I would rate a solid 4 and it would be better if located in a wetter environment.

Played On 02/15/20164 Star? NOT !!!
I've played 6 courses from Saratoga to North Port over the last 2 weeks. I was satisfied or better with all but this course. The only thing I would rate 4 stars about this course would be the greens - which were very good.
The cart I was issued had NO parking brake and it felt like I was driving a car with the power steering not working. I had to be careful where I parked to keep it from rolling off.
There is no driving range, but they do have 2 hitting nets. We did get off about 10 minutes early, but we began to back up badly on Hole 3 which lasted for the rest of the round. The round took 5 1/2 hours.
The front nine had some interesting holes and it definitely helped to be playing with a local.
I think my GPS read correct yardage, but was always on the wrong hole. I tried a smart phone GPS app and it likewise was always on the wrong hole. Evidently they have changed their layout and GPS databases haven't been updated.
The back 9 is of completely different layout - more straight and open.
Fairways were in only fair condition and the rough was cut fairly low. Cart paths were rough in some locations. They did have a beverage cart on the course.
I will go elsewhere next time.

Very nice course. Best starter welcome/briefing I've had anywhere. Fairways in good shape. Greens in good shape. Layout fairly standard with a few interesting holes. Was fortunate to play with locals but a GPS/laser would get you around this course just fine. Will return.
