Be prepared for 3-putts!

These greens are some of the fastest in the area and I think the members take pride in that. For the most part they are fast & fair but there is usually 2-3 holes where pins are placed so that 3-putting is unavoidable so that kept me from giving it 5-stars. The front 9 is very scenic but also 4-5 strokes tougher than the back so if you can manage to keep it together on the front you can score well on the back. All in all, nice track with a good rate for guests.

Fantastic Course But WAY Overpriced

I played this course 2 years ago for a $99 twilight rate in June and it was one of the best rounds ever for the value so I couldn't wait to go back. Then I find out that the prices this summer would be $235 during the day and still over $160 for twilight! And the new Shepherd's Rock course rates are the same so no more deals to be had at the old Links course. It's prices like these that are certainly adding to the declining participation in golf. So it looks like fall weekdays are the only time either course is somewhat affordable going forward at $135/$80 twilight. And their website doesn't even publish the rates anymore because they're so embarrassed most likely. So next summer when the price is likely $250, do yourself a favor and buy a Masters ticket, or a round at Oakmont or Bandon Dunes, or any other nationally ranked or major championship host course for the same price. Or if you're playing on a corporate dime, like I'm sure 99% of their clientele are these days, by all means, do it. The course is beautiful.

Decent 9-Hole Track

There's a quirky hole or two but you'll find that anywhere in Western PA. Great for beginning golfers. If you can find a time where you can ride 9 for $20 or under, it's worth it.

Not Bad

Played a scramble here a couple years ago. Nothing really spectacular. Good value and decent conditions. Middle of the road course but at least it's not overpriced.

Nice wooded layout

If you're going to play here Red & Blue are the two nines you want to play. Gold is ok just not as scenic. This is the best public course closest to the Mt. Lebanon, South Hills, Upper St. Clair, I-79 area. The only unfortunate thing is they know they are the best and price accordingly. Always $50+ and sometimes closer to $70.

Course Closed

This course is now closed and the land sold. Wasn't too challenging to begin with. Only par 35 and right around 3,000 yards. No bunkers either.

Great links design!

This is the best public course in Pittsburgh when you consider design, condition, and price. This was meant to be private I was told but converted when the homesites didn't sell. Rees Jones did a great job on this one. 7,000+ from the tips is no joke either.
