The Walker Golf Course at Clemson University
Played On 08/16/2022A must play
As always Walker didn't disappoint. This is easily the best public course in the area. Lush fairways and fast, receptive greens. Bunkers are always great too. Practice facilities are top notch. Zero complaints here.
The Club at Brookstone
Played On 08/06/2022Brookstone is in great condition!
Brookstone is looking great! The best the course has looked in some time, lush and green. Greens rolled great but we're on the firm side. The owners that bought the course a few years ago have really made steps in the right direction and it shows! Best of the 3-4 courses in the Anderson area.
Connestee Falls Golf Course
Played On 10/03/2021Worth the drive!
This course has beautiful views and the wildlife is abundant. The conditions were very good and the greens were in fantastic shape, held the ball nicely.and were fast and true. Everything was nice and green probably over seeded with rye for the winter. My only complaints were that the fairways needed mowing and were too lush, almost like hitting out of the light rough after splitting the middle. And that the grill was closed on the day I played, which was a Sunday. I think the food would have been great if I could have tried it. Overall a great experience and definitely will return.
Greenwood Country Club
Played On 08/18/2020Great conditions and layout
Had a great time here today. Course is in great shape and the greens were exceptional. Very nice layout and fairways were plush. Staff was accommodating. We will definitely be back soon.
Hickory Knob Golf Course
Played On 07/12/2019Worth the drive!
Hickory Knob golf course has a somewhat difficult front nine that winds through the woods with tight fairways, doglegs, and elevation changes. The back nine is more wide open and flatter. The course is set beautifully on the lake with water coming into play on numerous holes. Greens and fairways were lush and the overall condition was great. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. Bring your A game.
The Links at Stoney Point
Played On 07/08/2018Top notch course and service
This course is in great shape! Fairways, greens and bunkers were all well-manicured. The gentleman in the pro-shop was very professional and accommodating. We actually had an issue with our tee time from Golfnow for our threesome and he fixed it without any hassle. I highly recommend this course even if it's a long drive. You won't be disappointed. We'll run and professional in every way.
Cobb's Glen Country Club
Played On 02/20/2018Best greens in the area!
Cobbs Glenn has been constantly improving for some time now. Everytime I go there are noticeable improvements to the course and facilities. You will not find better greens anywhere in the area. Fast and rolling great. It looks like everyone is making an effort to fix ball marks, fill divots and rake bunkers, which have gotten much better, here recently. Fairways are generous and wide but this course has always been a challenge. With it being just over 7,000 yards from the tips. I would definitely recommend this course.

Played On 10/03/2016Greens were pitiful.
I have only played here a couple of times. The first time it was mid fall and everything was good. I played this time and was very disappointed. I didn't keep count but the majority of the greens were shabby. I mean from large totally bare patches to putting through "sand traps". I know they are bent grass and we have had a hot summer but would expect much better from an upscale course like this. I really built this course up to my friend and we played on $39 Monday. But to think the regular greens fee are like $20-30 more on average. I would be upset paying that and then find out that the majority of the greens were unputtable. On the positive side the rest of the course was in good shape. I'm sure they will get them fixed in the near future but would have liked to have been notified before we played.
Arrowhead Pointe At Lake Richard B. Russell

This course offers views and conditions unmatched in the area. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. Even if you have to drive an hour or more to play this course its worth it.
The Links at Stoney Point
Played On 03/30/2016Excellent course!
It has been about 10-12 years since I have played this course. It was nice then but they have really upgraded. The whole experience was great. The folks in the clubhouse were very accommodating. The course was busy on a Wednesday, but pace of play was great. We never felt rushed or had to wait. The course was in great shape. It has its share of doglegs and has some short par 4's. It is somewhat tight but has some risk-reward holes too. Greens were lush with few imperfections. All the traps were perfect. Will definitely make a few more trips there this year for sure.
Chickasaw Point Golf Course
Played On 08/20/2014Bring you're A game!
This is a very challenging course. It's in great shape everytime I play here. You must keep your ball in or near the fairway. The Bermuda rough will eat your ball and make it tough to spin it. The Bermuda greens were really slick, but held the ball and putted true. It still was fun to play this course, but believe me bring plenty of balls!
The Walker Golf Course at Clemson University
Played On 08/06/2014Really enjoyed the layout of this course
I played here first in 95' when it first opened. Didn't remember a lot of the course, it was 19yrs ago. Why did I wait so long to return? This is a great track. You have to think on virtually every shot because it has endless risk- reward possibilities. Greens were really receptive and putted true. Fairways and traps were all well kept. Knowledge of the course is helpful because there are several different ways to play each hole. We actually picked up a walker playing the back that was familiar with the course and I shot better immediately. It's a little more expensive than some other local courses and is still played frequently. The only gripes I have are folks don't fix their ballmarks enough or very well when they do. Tighten up players! Also there could be better signage to help distinguish where the paths are taking you. This is a very memorable course with some beautiful holes that was a joy to play.
Willow Creek Golf Course
Played On 04/22/2014Great course, great staff!
This was my first time playing this course. I got there an hour early than my tee time because the forecast was for rain. They had no problem sending us off. The course was in great shape and I am sure will only get better. I highly recommend playing this course, just keep it in the fairway because they are all tree lined. This course also has its share of bunkers!
Anderson Country Club
Played On 9/9/2013This course is fun to play
Anderson CC is a fun course that is always in pretty good shape. The bermuda greens are sneaky fast and depending on pin placements you can have your work cut out for you. The fairways are lush and undulating and a level lie is hard to come by on some holes. The bunkers look as though they have had sand added recently and are great. The greens are in fairly good shape though some hold the ball well and some seem kind of spongey and the ball bounces a little before stopping. The greens are fast for the most part and putt somewhat smooth. The only areas on this course that need attention are the tree lined areas separating holes, they are bare, rocky, and full of exposed tree roots. Overall they are still in great shape considering all the rain lately as the #13 hole, usually a par 5 shortened to a par 3, can fully dry out. The staff are always super friendly and i would encourage anybody who likes a timeless old track to come give it a try.
Cobb's Glen Country Club
Played On 9/5/2013Cobb's Glen is in great shape
This course is back in great shape. They switched from bent to bermuda greens a little while back and decided to sod the back 9 and seed the front 9 greens. Then back 9 had perfect greens the front had some greens that needed a little work. They airified all the greens about three weeks ago now they are all great hold the ball well and putt smooth as silk. This is a nice course with quite a challenge from the tips. The staff are always super nice and i would recommend everyone to play here as you won't be disappointed.
Maple/Willow at Hunter's Creek Plantation
Played On 4/16/2013Excellent layout!
Golfnow got us a super deal on this course, but unfortunately it seemed to reflect on how we were treated. They refused to give us the range balls that were supposed to be included. After asking to go off on the first two 9's, since they are the most senic, she insited (rolling her eyes) we start on the third 9! There were no water coolers at all and the nice bathrooms on the course had drink machines that weren't even plugged in!? Also the grill was closed. Its too bad because this was once an awesome course. Don't get me wrong it's still nice but mismanaged in my opinion.
Greens are unreceptive and speeds are inconsistent.
Always wet. Poorest drainage possible for a golf course.
Way too crowded. Slow play.
