Good shape; fairways, greens, etc.... non-boring layout. Doable but many strategic bunkers.
The Champion Turf Club at St. James
Played On 01/26/2020Nice day of golf.
Course in good condition. Some bare sand spots but ok. Bunkers in good shape. Pace of play ok.
Wide fairways mostly: some pesky bunkers. Greens true, not slow for sure.
Friendly staff, starter, ranger.
PGA WEST Pete Dye Mountain Course
Played On 04/10/2019Most challenging course so far
Great day. Course conditions excellent. True greens. Good fairway. Sandy bunkers(not fine). Rough not thick(not overseeded?).
Most interesting/challenging course so far this week.
Very friendly staff. Rangers seen 3-4 times asking how we were, and keeping pace up.
Terrific scenery and views.
Hot deal for $70 a great value for such a good course..
Many ‘mesa’ greens , but ball held.
Heritage Palms Golf Club
Played On 04/07/2019Very nice day
Fun day. Course in very good condition.p: fairways, rough, bunkers. Nice sand in bunkers.
Friendly staff and members. Did not feel like outsider.
Went a sunday morning, so included a great buffet breakfast.
Pace of play good.
Never quite got the hang of the greens. Dont look hard, but was surprised too often.
Would recommend for sure.
Sedona Golf Resort
Played On 04/02/2019Beautiful day for golf
Very nice course. Great conditions, except for a few bunkers being too-hard sand.
I am a senior high handicapper and played from the forward tees. No really long carries over waste needed.
No too-narrow fairways off the tees.
Some ‘strategic’ bunkers in play, but no green-surrounding ones. Still, had to be aware of them in planning.
Good pace of play. All foursomes(we were paired with another 2some)..
A little pricey, but i guessworth it.
Indian Hills Golf Course
Played On 01/16/2019Some Good layout; could improve conditions
Layout ok. Conditions average. Pace of play ok. Staff friendly. Ranger comes around to keep up pace of play. Sand in bunkers pretty good. Green condition good.
Some holes challenging; some less.
Fairwinds Golf Course
Played On 01/14/2019Back 9 better
Course was in ok shape. Back 9 much more interesting, with dog-legs and water.

Legacy Golf Club
Played On 01/10/2019Best course we played so far
This was great. Staff very friendly. Included coupon for lunch(we got blt, hot dog, chips and sodas at the turn; very good). Ice in the cooler with 2 bottled waters.
6 sets of tees. Course conditions very good. Sand in bunkers very good(plenty of experience there.),
Fair/challenging layout. Seemed well established with no new construction going on.
Good pace of play.
Lakewood National Golf Club - Commander Course
Played On 01/08/2019Great day!
Very good conditions today. Fast greens. Nice layout. Played from the forward most tees since are seniors on vacation. Put together with 2 nice guys who played from almost the back tees. We had a good time.
Staff very friendly. Driving range balls included.
Good pace of play. Only waited a few times at par 3’s.
No restaurant yet but tiki bar is in the works.
Port Royal Golf Course
Played On 10/19/2017Good golf..
We booked tee time thru a golfnow hot deal; $90 each. Were in bermuda from a cruise ship, so went via taxis on our own(abt $30 each way, includind tip). Course was in very good shape. Not crowded. Maybe that was because it was cloudy with some sprinkles around. But we had fun.
Ate lunch there after, which was very good. Very friendly staff too.
Kiskiack Golf Club
Played On 10/11/2017Very good golf
The course conditions were very good, fairways very undulating often. We had fun and all played om the forward tees. Both 9's were good, the back 9 being more scenic. Greens are large, and broke true: not too fast, but ot slow. Bunkers are strategic, and well kept. Electric carts good. Cart paths in good shape.
Some of us said it was the best course we played in williamsburg.
Ford's Colony Country Club - Blackheath Course
Played On 10/10/2017Good course
We played the blue heron. It sounded like they have one 18 open to the public, two 18's for members only. And they rotate them. Ladies played red; men played white/red combo. (Several combos available). Had fun. Not too challenging, not too easy.
Very good conditions: tees, greens, fairways. Greens readable and broke true.
Nice golf carts. Very good cart paths.
Colonial Heritage Club
Played On 10/09/2017Enjoyable time
Nice course. We all played the burgundy tees(forward) since we had handicaps from 13 to 30+. No lethal holes, but was not easy either, for our first day out in williamsburg. Course in super condition. Golfnow rate a good value even tho we didn't do a 'hot deal'. Course looks like it would be much more of a challenge as you go back to back tees.
We had fun, and would recommend.
