If you go into the first rough, the chances of find you ball is less than 50%. If you go into the second rough, forget about it.
Liquor prices are the highest I have paid this year.

The course is in great shape and the staff, especially the cart girls, were all just great!
The course layout is a little bland since the land underneath it is also bland, and because this is a newer course - meaning that the trees still require some growth.I am sure the other, more expensive course is nicer.
But the service made up for it. Our carts were driven to us at our car. I came with ice and two bottles of water. The driving range is free. The clubhouse is much better than most in the Dallas area. They put money into this course, as evidenced by how green everything is in the middle of a drought.

Used points so I paid $0.00. Carts are getting a little old. No cart girl after 5:30. Greens were good. You can tell they are really trying to keep the fairways green. Loved the two free beers - keep it up!
Perhaps the worst thing about TC is brown grass and cracked soil off the fairways. The only things that are green are the big weeds. It just makes the whole course look ugly. But I know TC can't water everywhere, but I think they could spray the weeds.

One small annoyance: on the turn, a threesome jumped in front of us. That would have been fine but they were new golfers who did not know proper golf etiquette. When they would duff, they would take two or three mulligans. They drove their carts in restricted areas where the course was working hard to restore. Finally, they would sit on a tee box or in the middle of the fairway just shooting the breeze. I timed them one time and they talked for seven minutes before the first one tee'ed off.
We thought they were waiting on groups in front of them, because we could not see in front of them. When we could finally see that the course was wide open in front of them, we asked the marshal to speak with them. He did and they moved on. But on the last two holes, with the marshal long gone by then, they resorted back to their slow pace.

I had a morning meeting in Tyler and so I decided to try the LALE on the way back to Dallas. It is truly a links course - extremely flat. I was a single, played by myself, and finished in just under two hours by jumping ahead of a few holes. The back up came from a group of seven playing in five carts.
The course is well cared for and the people there are very nice. One interesting feature is that while the carts don't have GPS, they really do. There is no GPS screens on the carts, but if you drive your cart OB, you get that warning beep that requires you to back up.
Would I drive out there just to play golf. No, I don't think so. For about the same price and same distance from Dallas, I think I like the hills and elevations better at Webb Hill CC.

I think they now have over ten greens under repair. Other greens should be. But, all as advertised and as criticized on GN. Seems like a lot more weeds and a lot more bigger weeds. Lots of brown patches on the fairways. And of course more weeds. Newer carts and happy to see they are repairing the cart paths. Keep it up - give it 60 days and it should be good

I have never seen so many weeds on the greens. They were more concentrated than the weeds on the fairways. It was also Slow Play Saturday. We stopped after nine holes, because it was so slow and the course was in such terrible condition. We will come back after they put down weedkiller, fertilizer and water. Cart girl Belle was fun!

February? 82 degrees? Of course it will be packed! That is why a marshal was needed. But I never saw one.
It took 45 minutes to play two holes. Then we went to No. 3, which, with us, had four groups on it! .
I bolted to and found two holes on the front nine completely empty. I found a group on 13 that was three men and two women. In front of them, there were two holes wide open. Very, very pleasant people, but very slow. They let me motor past them.
I paid a bargain price and got bargain golf. So no complaints. I just wish I was retired and could marshal this course. This is my favorite course and 99% of the time it is well managed.

Yes! They even have the goats to prove it!
You have to do more than paint the greens green. Now I have green golf balls!
You should water the course, even in the winter. You should put down a green winter grass on the tee boxes and fairways. Signage: More than once we just got lost trying to find out where the next hole was. Did I mention that they do not allow drivers on the driving range? Don't attempt to find it on your own, because you never will. Ask for directions and get your GPS fired up, because you will need it.

I hope this course survives, but I don't see how. These were the roughest conditions I have played in about ten years. That was when I played Los Rios in Plano and Oak Hollow in McKinney. Now I have a third course that has been scratched off my list.

We tried this place for the first time because of the recent reviews. We found the greens to be the best in the DFW area. Extremely true, although none of putted that well.
We will be back in the Spring to see what it looks like with green grass and leaves on the trees! Or we may be back sooner.
Plus, the folks there are the best. Give it a try. I bet you won't be disappointed.

5-Stars all the way around! Believe it or not, if I could change anything, I would like the course to be dryer. It was very wet, in late August!!

A really great time! Course is in great shape, which is an incredible feat after two months of drought. Staff was great. Cart girls were great! Just a great time!

103 on Sunday and not one drop of water on the course. And no cart girl until the 15th hole! If someone dies out there, it will be the course's fault. $72 bucks for this. Not again.

The greens are in bad shape. It is as if they forgot to cover them during a winter storm. They should be ok by July 4th.

Friendliest staff in the local golf community. Brown fairways flattened as if by a steam roller. Some greens fast, some slow, but all bumpy and lacking large amounts of grass. Pin placements matched those at the Masters on a Sunday. We saw no sand bunkers, which is ok, but no hard alcohol being served is not.

Behind us was a group of four beginners who never played golf before or taken a lesson. After five holes, they were three holes behind us. Three open holes on a Sunday afternoon! Obviously a need for a marshal. Somebody behind them must have complained because an employee came out and asked the name of our foursome. When we told him, he said OK and drove on. He was obviously looking for the beginners.

The beginners did not affect the speed of our play since they were behind us, but it was sad to watch them struggle so hard. However, but we constantly had two foursomes in front of us on the same holes we were on.
Elizabeth the cart girl was very pleasant and friendly.

The course has had a hard winter, along with a lot of play making it almost impossible to hit off most hardpan fairways.

Was a bit pricey on Sunday afternoon and crowded. The sand traps were in great shape and you can tell that the City continues to maintain it. Much better than Twin Creeks. Not a good a Heritage.
