Forfar Golf Club
Played On 09/24/2018Well worth the visit!
I had heard from friends that Forfar was a lovely course and it definitely was!
I played it with my son who also enjoyed the course. The Pro shop seemed sparse of stock but the lady there was friendly and helpful. Likewise the lady behind the bar was chatty and our toasties were beautifully presented. The members we met were delightful and welcoming.
The course was unusual with rolling fairways, due we were told, to flax being grown in the 18th century on ‘rigs and furrows’. It made the round interesting as your ball could shoot forward depending on where it landed. The greens were faster than we expected but the green keepers have produced a great golf course. The weather was perfect for golf and I would certainly go back to Forfar!
Pitreavie Golf Club
Played On 09/03/2018Shame about the weather!
Played Pitreavie for the first time and although we got soaked, the course was set out beautifully. Many of the holes were memorable and interesting. The staff and members were very friendly and are proud that their course was designed by the same man who designed Augusta National, Georgia.
I would definitely go back and try to play the course in drier conditions!
Dunfermline Golf Club
Played On 08/28/2018Enjoyable Round of Golf
Played this course with 3 friends and we very much enjoyed our day. The course was challenging, interesting and looked lovely with lots of well established trees.
The Pro was helpful and friendly. The girl behind the bar was on her own and could have done with someone to help,to speed up service but when the food came, it was beautifully presented and very tasty.
We would definitely go back and play the course again.
Gogarburn Golf Club
Played On 03/29/2018A Lovely 12 Holes of Golf
I played Gogarburn, for the first time, with a friend and we were lucky enough to play in the sunshine. The starter was very helpful and friendly. The course was very well looked after and the green keeper was very courteous. I would definitely want to go back as I really enjoyed the course and feel it would benefit my short game. 2 hours is a wonderful amount of time playing golf!
