Desert Springs Golf Club
Played On 09/30/2023Good course
Overall solid course, but the driving range was closed. Greens were a little slow, but very firm. Difficult to hold the greens from around the green. Good layout, but make sure you know where the water and waste areas are. It’s hard to tell off the tee how close trouble actually is. Good variety of tee boxes with set combos. The fairways are still a little burnt out, but no real issue.

Fairways and greens were well kept. Greens were a little slow, but no blemishes. Rough is a little thick but manageable. OB and houses on a lot of holes, so staying in the fairways Can help you shoot low. Greens were receptive. Pretty straight up course, no real difficulties/trouble on the course.
This course would have been rated higher if there wasn’t construction going on that shorted multiple holes to include a par 4 turned into a par three with a temp green cut in the fairway. (This hole seems to be a tough par 4 with water up the entire right.) unfortunate.
Bunkers also hurt the overall rating. They are more like soft diet but full of rocks.
Good range hitting surface. Large putting green, and a chipping area.

This course used to be a an oasis in the desert, now it seems like it’s all but deserted. The greens didn’t roll very well, and the middle of the fairways were burnt/or fungus killed out. The tee boxes were also trash. Sand traps were filled with quickcrete, and there was standing water all over the course. Unfortunate.
Four Mile Ranch Golf Club
Played On 05/08/2021Fun course... but always windy.
Expect wind.. a lot of wind. Cool layout. Fun course. The greens were in good condition but a pretty slow. The tee boxes were trash. Uncut, like tee it up out of the rough, even on par 3s. Everything else was solid!
Forest Greens Golf Club
Played On 08/01/2020Like many courses right now it’s burnt out.
Unfortunately the course is burnt out and soggy. No sand in the carts so no one is filling divots. No one is fixing pitch marks on greens so the soft greens are like putting on the moon’s surface. Cart path only is always terrible. Especially playing the course for the first time. Very frustrating outing, due to course conditions. If the course was alive and green, it could be a really awesome course.

A bit pricy but I guess Thats the norm for MD. I wish they had gps on the carts. Everything was in pretty good condition. Some tough blind shots, but it rewards you for hitting your spots.
Pohick Bay Golf Course
Played On 06/06/2020Pace of play..
This round was just a constant wait. The first hole is a blind tee shot. Doesn’t allow people to confirm the group in front of you is on the green. Also, first hole is cart path only. Just not the best set up to make sure pace of play doesn’t back up at hole 1. The golf carts were crappy. Course was pretty solid though.
Palmbrook Golf Club

I suppose it is to be expected playing in suncity area. It was a Wednesday morning so I expected pace to be pretty quick, but there was a men’s league that teed of 30 minutes before us. Course was good, though. Greens were pretty true.

For he most part, the course was in good condition. It's a shorter course, but I shot a78 playing it for the first time in over a year, and the first round on az. A couple of drivable par 4s at 330-340 yards. If you can keep the ball in the fairway, you have a real good chance to score. Oh, and try to leave your approach shots below the hole. Some greens have some tricky pins.
