Quintero Golf Club
Played On 02/28/2014Excellent Course
I've played Quintero about 8 times. Every time I love it. Its definately pricey, but you get an unforgettable golf experience. Fairways were lush. Bunkers were well cared for. Greens were fast but a little bit beat up, but not bad. Views, gorgeous. Its a challenging course overall. Most of the greens are surrounded closely by desert that will eat up your ball with even a slight miss. But its a fun kind of challenging. Staff was awesome. Greatest course in all of PHX!
The Legacy Golf Club
Played On 02/27/2014Poor Course Management
We had a 2pm tee time. We weren't allowed to start until about 2:15 because it was backed up. The front 9 went slower but manageable, everyone kept up with the group in front of them. However, the back nine was another story. On hole 11, FOUR groups were backed up, waiting on the tee box, with another group on the green. Play came to a dead stand still. After waiting on the tee box for ten minutes or so with no change we decided to conclude our round. This can only be explained with poor management. The course cared more about money than customer satisfaction as they were bragging about having 300 tee times booked that day. My group and I fly down each year for a golf trip and have made the Legacy a part of it every time, but will no longer.
Other than the poor management, the course was in good condition. Could be a fun place to play if they cared about players satisfaction.
Adobe Dam Family Golf Center
Played On 01/10/2014Cheap practice
I frequent this course often (about twice a week), both the driving range and the course itself. The pros of the course are that it can be cheap if you get the right time. Thats it. The cons, the greens are shaggy. There are many dry spots. The tee boxes are often lumpy or missing grass. Another con, one of the "owners" can be crusty (not the guy named Pete. Pete seems really down to earth). Yesterday I tried to start on the back half of the course (which was WIDE OPEN) because the 1st tee had 4 groups backed up. One of the "owners" yelled at me and told me to get back on the 1st tee. He didnt care about all the groups lined up on the 1st tee. I might be in the wrong, honestly I dont know, but I was trying to speed up the pace of play and help everyone out. Anyways, being someone who plays here all the time and I bring other people here to play with me, I didn't appreciate being reprimanded in the manner that I was. Take this review for what its worth, like I said, its a good low key place to practice your short game and maybe I was in the wrong for trying to play the back half first.
Coyote Lakes Golf Club
Played On 8/31/2013Excellent course, Greatest staff ever
Coyote Lakes is a great course. While not a long course its still a super fun layout that rewards shot placement. Conditions were great when I played it.
The best thing about this course to me is the staff. Everyone, especially the lady and man at the clubhouse are super friendly. I've played here about 8 times and every time they are so accommodating. Today there was a mix-up between the golfnow tee time and the courses system so it booked me when there was a tournament going on. The guy in the clubhouse could have just told me "sorry but cant do it" but instead got me on ahead of the tournament. Again, excellent service and staff. The course is fun but the staff keeps me coming back. Thank you coyote lakes.
Trilogy Golf Club at Vistancia
Played On 7/15/2013excellent conditions, fun challenge
The course was in great condition, especially for mid July. Greens rolled true, fairways lush. The course is really a fun course because its challenging but not overly so. Very good layout.
Legend at Arrowhead, The
Played On 7/12/2013Fun course
Legend at Arrowhead is a fun course that is well maintained. In peak summer the greens were still in good shape and rolled true. Its a popular course and can get pretty busy at times. For the most part our pace of play was good but every once in a while it got backed up.
I have one grip with their policy on cart GPS. Upon checking in, the clubhouse worker told me there is NO yardage markers on the course, but I can use the cart GPS for a small fee. I dont really care about the extra few bucks but if a course doesnt have yardage markers then why charge extra for GPS??? Do they expect me to have a yardage book or something?
Adobe Dam Family Golf Center
Played On 07/07/2013Get what you pay for
I played this course for cheaper than a bucket of balls, but you get what you pay for. The summer heat has taken its toll on some fairways and greens. Overall its still a good place to practice your short game for a cheap rate.
Union Hills Golf & Country Club
Played On 07/05/2013Fun parkland course
Union Hill CC was a fun course. There was nothing spectacular about it but it was a solid parkland layout. Green were in good shape (for July) and fairways were decent. Pace of play started to get backed up but it was no big deal. Overall I would recommend for an enjoyable round.
Palmer Course at Wildfire Golf Club at Desert Ridge
Played On 5/25/2013Resort Course-nothing unique
We played the Faldo course.
Pros: challenging, good condition, friendly staff.
Cons: slightly overpriced. OVERBOOKED! Our round took over 5 hrs to play. The marshall was good to try and hurry things up but the course was just too full, even for a saturday.
Coyote Lakes Golf Club
Played On 9/25/2012Great for the money and a quick afternoon round.
For what I payed, I really couldn't ask for anything more. I played it in late September, so much of the fairway was sun scorched. However, the greens were still in good shape. The course is short, but not necessarily easy. Rarely was there a flat fairway; very rolling and often sloped.
Overall, Coyote Lakes is a fun little course. My experience was nothing spectacular, but still solid fun golf.
Thanks for coming out to play Quintero. We are so glad you love it. Please join us again soon.
