Good time

This course has it down. 1 cart per person, but you get it 10 minutes before your tee time. There is a monitor @ the carts. Driving range is open. Beer stands & grill behind the clubhouse & beer stand next to the driving range.
Course is in good shape. Greens run true. A lot of blind shots on the course, a couple of hazards that didn’t show up on my Sky Caddie. Luckily, we were paired with regulars who knew the layout.
Course was fully booked, waited almost every shot on the back 9, but not overly so. Beverage cart girls on the course. Pace of play at 4 1/2 hours on a Saturday afternoon.

fast greens, slow play

The course was in decent condition with all the rain.
All play is starting on hole #9, then proceeding to the back nine, then the front holes 1-8. A little confusing at the start, but they had a bridge out between holes 8-9 and that's how they solved for it.
No sand on the carts to repair fairway divots. Lots of roll on the fairways. Rough/1st cut is non-existent,and a lot of crazy bounces off the hills, especially bordering the edges of the fairway to make your ball flirt with the OB stakes. The greens were surprisingly fast given all the recent rain we've had, while at the same time, holding approach shots.
HOWEVER...
A 2-some jumped in front of us @ the beginning, lied to the starter and told him he was me, and they went of early. Unfortunately, we caught up to them about the 3rd hole. The 2-some became a 4-some, then a 5-some of guys playing off both the blue and white tees. WE WAITED EVERY SHOT...
After the turn from the back nine to #1, they finally split back into a 3-some (from the blues) and a 2-some (from the whites). The guys playing off the whites waited until the group in front of t hem was on the green to tee off - even on the par 5's.
Speaking of teed off, there were AT LEAST 2 holes open in front of them (that I could see & verify - most likely more!)
Then, to cap it all off, a couple of kids, fishing poles in hand, walked back and forth along the cart path on the last hole (#8) in front of the tee boxes and the pond along the left side of the fairway and gave us some gestures when we shouted "fore" to alert them we were ready to hit. We reported them to the pro shop after play.
Overall, a decent value, but with a marshal on the course speeding up play, we could have finished at least an hour earlier. Because of that, taking this course off our list for the summer, may try back again after Labor Day.

in great shape

Pro at the shop welcomed us back & said we could tee off a few minutes early from our scheduled 10 am start.
Course is in excellent shape, especially the greens. Honestly, I was shocked & pleasantly surprised at how nice they were. No real "sand" in the bunkers, even around the greens - you're hitting off dirt, but at least it was raked.
Played as a 2-some, group in front of us was a 3-some, caught up to them on hole #3, waited at every tee box until #7, then waited every shot. Typical duffers who waited until the green cleared from 250 out then hit the ball 120 yds - EVERY TIME. (and didn't let the 2 women behind them play through)... Luckily there was shade to park the cart at almost every tee box.
still finished at just under 4 hours, but was frustrating, then funny - we started making bets on how long they'd wait & how far they'd hit their next shot...
The 2-some behind us who teed off 1/2 an hour later caught up around hole #8, then #12 after the turn. No marshals on the course.
However, we DID see Gina the cart girl 4 times during the round, which was greatly appreciated & needed in the 100+ degree heat.
Overall, a good experience & would play here again.

great value

The course was in great shape. The starter let our foursome tee off a few minutes early as the group scheduled ahead of us wasn't ready.
Pace of play was perfect! Playing off two different tee boxes (gold & white), we never had to wait & were never pushed from behind. Finished the round in 3:45
Fairways had a lot of roll, found all of our wayward shots in the rough & could get a hybrid out - a few challenging holes, greens ran true and a little fast. Quite a few unfixed ball marks on the greens, but that's to be expected on a public course.
Staff was friendly in the pro shop, grill, and on the course. Cart girl came by several times.
A great day on the course & an excellent value with deal on Golf Now. Would recommend and play here again!

BYO everything

Arrived at the course as a 3-some, paired with a single. Pro shop has a maximum of 2 carts per tee time, so our 3rd had to ride with a stranger, who already left for the #1 tee box across the street and down the hill from the pro shop/bag drop. The man could not navigate the course, popping and parking on curbs and almost running into trees in the rough.
Was informed upon arrival that there was NO beverage cart service, and alcoholic beverages are NOT allowed outside the confines of the restaurant area & patio because of the limitations of their liquor license. This policy is strongly enforced. Also, no cart service on the course, but you are allowed to bring your own beverages (would have been good to know in advance). Oh, and the Coke machine at the bathrooms on the front 9 is out of order. Water coolers on the tee box about every 4 holes, glad I threw my Yeti cup in the cart at the last minute.
The course is in good shape, bunkers and greens are well maintained. The greens are pretty "hairy" and slow - aim about 2 feet past the hole.
Wildlife on the course - saw a deer walk across #10 tee box and #18 green before running into the woods. A large flock of turkeys by the pond & par 3 on the back 9.
Pace of play? Keep in mind this is a retirement community course, and it seemed like most players own their own carts. A notice on the cart says that pace of play should not exceed 4 hours & 20 minutes. For the length and difficulty of this course, anything exceeding 4 hours should be a crime, but we waited on EVERY SHOT...
Even spending 15 minutes at the turn using the facilities and pounding a beer, we caught up with the group in front of us on #11. That 4-some waited @ 200 yards and hit their balls about 100-120. No marshals on the course either to regulate pace of play. We finished at 4.5 hours, but it seemed like 6. We beat the sunset by 1/2 an hour, anyone teeing off after 1 pm would finish in the dark...
The "hot deal" rate of $19.00 for Sunday early afternoon seemed like a no-brainer, but would have paid much more for an enjoyable experience. Will not be back or in good conscience recommend to friends in the area.

recommended with provisions

The course is in great shape! A lot of water on the course - it IS the Lakes course, but didn't come into play a lot. However, I believe it is on hole 16, there is a creek all along the right side that isn't depicted on the score card or my sky caddie.
We were right at a 4-hour pace of play (9 am tee time). However, the marshal came up to us on the back around hole 12/13 and informed us we HAD to be finished by 1:00 because there was a shotgun tournament teeing off. That would have been good to know in the pro shop before we teed off or at the turn.
No cart girl (glad we asked!) so had to stop at the turn for provisions. The ladies in the grill are very nice, but definitely not in a hurry. Prices are reasonable, 16 oz beers instead of the traditional 12 ouncers. No coolers on the cart, glad we brought our own.
Would play again & recommend.

great round for the money

1st time playing the course. conditions were good, a few fairways were soggy & had standing water in the middle due to rain the night before. Greens were in very good shape.
Pace of play was OK, 4.5 hour for a 3-some on Friday mid-morning. We waited every shot, the group 2 ahead of us was a couple of holes behind. Typical guys who shouldn't have been playing from the tips but their egos wouldn't let them do otherwise. Didn't see a marshal the entire round.
However, we did see the cart girl, Sarah, at least 1/2 a dozen times. She was great!
Overall, a great value for the money. Would recommend & play here again!

great value for the money

The course was in very good shape - a little standing water in the middle of the 16th fairway, and one green that had dirt/rough patches. Fairways gave a lot of generous bounces & roll. Not a lot of sand in the bunkers, like hitting out of a fairway trap, but easy to get out of trouble.

Pace of play was very good - 4 hour round, 2 hours a side. We only waited on one hole and were never pushed by the group behind us.

No cart girl on the course on a Friday afternoon. We were glad we asked the guys in the pro shop in advance. Beer & food prices were very reasonable.

Will definitely play here again!

great shape!

This course is in the best shape I've seen it in years. Greens are pretty fast & roll true. Fairways in excellent condition. Rough is challenging to get out of if your ball isn't sitting up.
Ground crews were all over the course maintaining during our round. Cart girl came by 4-5 times during the round. Pro shop staff was friendly.
Played 18 in 3 1/2 hours. Played as a twosome and was paired up with a single. Couldn't beat the price we got at GolfNow.

save your money!

The front 9 is closed. Played the back 9 twice. The course is in TERRIBLE shape. It's a goat track, probably the worst course I've ever been on. The rough hasn't been mowed in ages, more than ankle deep, the old grass just sitting around is turning brown. Forget about trying to find your ball if you don't hit the fairway, just hit a provisional. The greens are terrible - weeds, brown spots & dirt, and bumpy as all get out - just aim for the pin & pray. NO SAND in the bunkers, just dirt and weeds growing inside them. The bugs are terrible, bring bug spray & apply often. Several of the holes smelled like an open sewer. Cobwebs in the toilet in the ladies bathroom on the course - I don't think they have cleaned it in the last year. First and last time playing this course. I can't see it staying open much longer without a major overhaul & cash infusion.

great value for the money

The course was in good shape for this time of year. The greens were extremely slow - it took a few holes to get the (lack of) speed down. I found this a very forgiving course - perfect for a "Friday Funday" with friends!
There are a few bare dirt spots off the fairway, especially under trees, but that is to be expected. No one seemed to be filling in their divots on the fairways though, I ran out of sand on the front 9 doing that while waiting.
The only issue I had was they paired 2 twosomes ahead of us. The guys teed off together, then played out their shots separately, which made for a long round until 2 quit at the turn. Then we realized the now twosome in front of us was SHARING a set of clubs. We waited on almost every shot. It seemed like forever, but it was just under a 4.5 hour round.
That being said, the re-opening rate ($15 w/cart!) can't be beat. The pro shop said the special is running through 5/23.
