Sunnyvale Municipal Golf Course
Played On 01/15/2022Tee off early - or else
Pace-of-play is super-slow here, but even more so on the weekends. Everyone walks on this short, very wide, flat course, and no one is in a hurry. We never got called up on a par 3, when appropriate. Another reason to tee off early is no one repairs their bill marks here either. Get ahead of the inconsiderate players by teeing off early. (Die to slow play, I had time to repair six balls marks for every one of mine.) Carts must be retuned 15 minutes prior to sunset, so plan accordingly. Due to slow play, if you want to finish 18 holes with or without cart, give yourself 5 1/2 hours.

Played On 11/22/2021Great little track!
Everything about SGGC was good, except for the worn tee boxes and occasional muddy fairways. The small ish driving range did the trick. Clubhouse staff was pleasant and efficient. A great value in the midst of a metro area.
Pruneridge Golf Course
Played On 12/20/2020Great course for beginners and short game tune-up
This is the perfect course for beginners! Check in was efficient (pre-paid online,) but not very welcoming. COVID-19 protocol appeared to be in place. All of the tee boxes are pretty beat up and the bunkers could use a bit more sand, but these are some pretty remarkable greens considering the amount of play Pruneridge gets. Pace of play was on the slow side, but again, this place is more for beginners (or 25+ handicappers.) we had to wait about five minutes at each tee box, yet the player assistant came over to us on the 5th green to scold us for being a full hole behind! Huh?

Huh? When we got to the 6th tee box (par 3) the twosome in front of us was still on the green. Our threesome was pushing the twosome in front of us the entire round. Justifying his existence, I suppose.
San Jose Municipal Golf Course
Played On 06/11/2019Once a Muni, always a Muni
This old course is the same as it was 50 years ago. The weeds overtake the rough, the bunkers have more rocks than sand, and no one fixes their ball marks. The on-course restrooms are not placed at the right holes and there are zero ice water stations - only dirty old water fountains. However, it’s the only track in that part of SJ...
Coyote Creek Golf Club - The Tournament Course
Played On 04/11/2019Still one of the best!
It’s been decades since much of the Valley Course sat on the old Riverside GC, but both the Valley and Tournament Course are well-designed, well-maintained tracks! With the ease of GolfNow and it’s proximity to Silicon Valley, I’m surprised it doesn’t get more play. Give this challenging layout a try. It’s a.great value course!
