Eagle Dunes Golf Club

Pace of play is always an issue. We feed off at 1115 and finished at 430.. the weather was perfect. Problem is there is no one pushing hackers on the course to move. This ALWAYS happens out there and has become accepted. It’s a shame. Great course, great layout, but pace of play is frequently awful. Also, if hungry go somewhere else first. The food they offer is terrible.
Stoneybrook East Golf Course
Played On 07/14/2019What a shame
Today was the first day I played SB East in years. What a disappointment. Dead greens, weed infested fairways, and flooded bunkers you had to take relief from.
Stoneybrook East is far from what it use to be which was a great track. Pace of play was great because no one was on the course. I should have put two and two together when I got to the club at 1130 and saw about 8 cars in the lot.
The layout is great and is a really good challenging golf course *IF* it were in the shape it should be. Unfortunately it resembles a cow pasture that I would avoid until they can turn it around.
Black Bear Golf Club
Played On 01/31/2018Slow pace of play
When I checked in the man in the pro shop said there would be a starter...there wasn’t.
Because of that the first tee had three groups on it waiting. From there pace of play was atrocious. No marshal, no starter, no one to push play along. The round took four hours and 45 minutes! That is awful.
Course is fun, in great shape, and worth the drive, but not when the pace is that slow. It is beyond frustrating when a course is as busy as that one and no one is there to keep it going and moving.

This is a review of the golf course. Every time you step up to a tee box you tell yourself, "man, this is amazing to look at." Truthfully it is. The course is in great shape but if it rains it does not drain well. This place has three faults though.
1. It does not have a driving range. When I go pay top dollar for a nice course or resort I expect to warm up and hit a few. Instead they just have one swing cage where you hit in to a net? No personally don't like unloading my stuff then going to the first tee with out a few swings.
2. The greens are brutal. The problem is members and guests don't fix their divots or ball marks. Most of the greens look like they are fighting chicken pox and your putts will look like a ball on a bumper car ramp. I wish the grounds crew would take the time to fix the greens at night.
3. Remember that it is a tourist stop and guests of hotel play. Sometimes you'll get stuck behind guys who just want to play because they are on vacation. I was disappointed that there was no ranger to monitor them, tell them to fix divots, allow others to play through, or tell them to keep moving.
If you can find a good rate on Golf Now go for it, but I wouldn't pay the fee they ask for at the course. Scenery is great, but you'll be really upset when it's time to putt and score.
