I played Summer Grove for the first time on 7/13 on a GolfNow deal as a single and had a wonderful golfing experience. The pro shop staff were very friendly and said I could tee off when I was ready. The course was in immaculate condition and there were no groups ahead of me or behind me, resulting in a stress-free round of golf. The greens were a moderate speed and well conditioned. The fairways and rough was freshly cut and the bunkers were well maintained. I’ll definitely be back!

After reading the reviews about questionable course conditions I was prepared for a rough tract, but was pleasantly surprised. All of the golf staff were very friendly and welcomed me as a first time visitor to their course. On the 2nd hole the ranger approached and hearing it was my first time there he spent some time offering tips about the course. Loved the layout and the classic Donald Ross design with the inverted saucer greens and the devilish chipping areas off the greens. The green speed was medium to fast, with some bumpiness, though they rolled fairly true. It should be noted that the 9th hole does not loop back to the clubhouse so plan ahead for food or drink. I thoroughly enjoyed my round at Bacon Park and will include it in my next visit to Savannah.

Fairways were in the best condition in the last few years. Greens show the amount of effort the Lion team has put into them in the last year and majority were in exceptional condition. Two or three greens had spots of bad turf, but overally the greens rolled very true. The last time we played here the bunkers were horrible, with more weeds than sand, but now have been groomed properly and feature new sand. If not for the few greens with true spots I would have given a 5 rating.
