Always liked the layout at CO. Greens and fairways were good, Tee boxes were a bit rough. They fixed up the cart paths a couple years ago. If the city would just get a full greens keeping staff on the payroll this course could be great. The pro shop and bag guys staff were excellent. I’ve read that this is a moneymaker for the city. Cape Coral takes $800,000 off the top. If they put more into the actual course maintenance they would certainly get a lot more play here.
Even it the greens fees went up a few bucks they are still a bit lower than other courses in the area. This is a city course so it belongs to the tax payers of the city of which I am one. Like any business, if they made it better they would get more play which equals more revenue. I am going to make a point of contacting the city to see when the meeting is being held to discuss this course. I want to add my opinion to the mix and encourage other golfers who are interested in making this place better to do the same.

My girlfriend is a : nd year okay who is improving, burnt Dtire offers a great venue gof a beginner and a challenge for any intermediate golfer.
Sure it is a executive course with 3, 9 hole tracks but it is challenging nonetheless.
Also, the club is offering 40% off all clothing and shoes. I picked up a Footjoy shirt and a pair of Pima shoes for a total of $100.

Other than CPO today, it was 1 great day. Nice layout. Huge greens. Damp fairways so very little roll. Staff always very friendly.

Great to see the city putting money back into the course’. The cart paths really needed an overhaul. Great job.
Now if they could get some irrigation on the fairways and tee boxes. Teeing up in dirt does not fun. it would greatly enhance the course. Great layout for a municipal course. Staff is always great.

Been down with Covid past 2 weeks. Finally felt good enough to play’. Figured 9 would be enough for my girl and me today. Got hooked up with another couple which put my girl at ease. It was a bit chilly out there today but we bundled up and got thru it. Course was in decent shape. Greens were speedy as usual. After the round we decided to go into the grill for a drink quick bite’.
Food was delicious and the drinks were great’. Overall great day at Cape Royal.

Course was in great shape. many improvements since i last played it. Several new tee boxes and even the older ones were greatly improved. Fairways were a little wet so we had cart path only today which probably prevented some from playing today. Greens were in very good shape. Finished in just over 4 hours.
My biggest gripe about this course was the tee boxes, I have nothing to complain about now. Good job.

First, let me say it’s nice to play a course her3 in Florida without loosing half dozen balls that keep rolling and rolling into unseen water. Track is wide open so even if you spray a drive or two, you can still recover and save par.
First time I played here it was very windy. This time we only had a slight breeze. perfect day.
The Bermuda greens are not easy to read and are a lot slower that other courses i’ve played. Takes some getting used to. Also some of the boxes were in terrible shape. Greens and fairways were in great shape. At 74, i moved up to the Gold tees. ( 5700yds ). I enjoyed the round very much. It’s fun to be able to hit greens in regulation. again. i’ll be back.

Started on Heron course, 2som following a 3som.
Tee’d off at 11:20. Finished front 9 at 2:30. 5 to 10 min wait on EVERY hole. Over 3 hrs to play 9 holes on an executive course? Are you kidding me! I complained to Ken the starter at the turn. We were suppose to play Osprey however Ken suggested we play Pelican. Played back nine in 1 hr 15 min. OK, it was Sunday ant it was windy but there should be a ranger moving the slower players along. At one point, i called the course from #3. we had been playing for 45 min (2 holes). There were 3 groups waiting on the tee. Ridiculous!,
I’ll go back but not on a Sunday unless I play real early.

Played with another couple. My girl and the couple are relative beginners so it was a good track for them to play. Pretty nice layout. Greens could use a little work. Tee boxes were terrible. Fairways not too bad. Overall a pretty good value.

We have come to expect the excellent conditions at Magnolia Landing. The staff seemed extra friendly yesterday. A few new faces. Staff was very helpful. From the guys who unloaded our bags, the pro shop staff, starter, ranger and the guys who wiped our clubs down after the round. All were very well informed and friendly.

First time playing Shell Point. Very windy conditions. Told starter that I was a 17 handicap and asked what tees he would recommend. He said “white” without hesitation. It was only a bit over 5100 yards I was hooked up with another guy”Glen” from PA. Told him I was a “bogey” golfer and he said that was about what he shoots.
Very windy conditions, I was glad the starter recommended the white tees. It was a strange day weather wise. We had high winds, then pouring rain that lasted 10 min and when the storm ended, we had hot and humid weather with sunshine. Couple holes later, the wind picked up again.
Starter informed us that the front fairways were brown because they will be replacing the fairways soon. The greens were lush, and stimped at 10. The back 9 fairways were green and lush. The greens could be tricky but they ran true for the most part. We both bought our tee time via Golf Now. Being May, the price was under $30. What a deal.
We had a great lunch in the fancy clubhouse, very inexpensive for what we got.
On the downside, there was no signage telling me where to check in. The guy in the proshop had me pre-checked. Handed me my receipt and told me to give it to the starter. I walked out and didn’t know where to go to get my cart.
Finally found the cart guy. He told me where to find the starter. I got my clubs and drove across the road to the range where the starter was. Thought I would hit some balls since I was 45 min early. Was told by starter that it was 10 bucks for a small bucket and I would have to go back across the street to the proshop to pay. $10 for a small bucket??
I opted to chip and pitch and hit sand shots at the large short game area. Then putted for 10 min at the putting green before hooking up with my playing partner.
Overall we both liked the layout but agreed we would probably not pay the 80 to 100 to play in season unless We were staying at the beach and wanted to treat myself. . I might play it once in season if it was discounted. On a 1 to 10 scale I would give the overall experience a solid 8.

Tee boxes, fairways & greens all in excellent condition. Played this course 2 years ago. I had forgotten how much I liked it. Nice layout and too notch condition.

Every time you think you’ve got the speed of these greens figured out, you blow a 10’ putt 10’ beyond the cup.

Golf Now has this showing as a 5 Star course. While conditions were ok, certainly not 5 Star. Started on Osprey which Is the least favorite of the regulars. First hole has a water hazard running across the fairway at a bit of an angle. Very difficult to gauge what to hit without having it roll in the water. Tees were nothing special. Most were well worn and some had no grass. Greens were in good shape however.
Played the 2nd nine on Pelican. Much nicer but a little boring. Seems like 3 holes in a row were very similar. Last 2 holes were legit par 4’s but we didn’t get to play them. There were ladies group on both so we skipped because of time.
Staff was great, tiny pro shop but very well stocked. Great stuff for sale there. Never saw a pro shop that sold Volvik balls.
Nice shoe selection as well.
It’s a decent executive course. But we went there because GN had it rated 5 Star. You should change that ASAP. A fair rating would be 3 1/2 stars.

You call this a golf course? As a recreational golfer for over 30 yrs and current 19 handicap, I can’t remember being so agrivated playing a round of golf. It seems like holes were created without regard for common sense. About 5 holes were water carry. No problem. On one hole it was 194 to the water. I hit 20 degree hybrid which I normally hit about 175-180, just wanted to layup. Hit a decent shot however the ground was hard and the ball rolled down a slope almost to water. Left an almost impossible shot which I was lucky enough to get a club on and barely knock it over to the other side of the canal.
The greens looked awesome but seemed to have breaks that were unreadable. Just could not see a break until I putted it. Of course the fact that there were 15 to 20 mph wind gusts didn’t help either. Had a 5 footer for par that I hit solid that got blown off line. Could only laugh. Lost 7 balls. A map of each hole, with tips would have been helpful. My gps was limited.
In honesty, the course was very challenging for me made more difficult by the wind. No forgiveness on this course. Everything just underscored how much I suck. If you want to have a fun round, stay away especially if it’s windy.

What a difference from last year. Great job on the improvements. Looks like every green was redone. They roll true.
No more excuses, if you miss a putt, it’s not the fault of the green. Fairways and tees were improved as well.
Pace was a little slow but it was late afternoon. Several couples and newer golfers. Staff here are very accommodating
for a city owned facility. Good for Cape Coral!!!

Short course so you can leave the driver in the trunk. I learned the hard way. Easy to drive the ball into trouble. 3 wood is all that is needed here and that sometimes could be too long. Had a mixup on with tee time but the Pro got us out without any problem. I've played 8 courses down here in the past month. The Dunes was in magnificent condition, better than any place I've plated including Bonita National and Magnolia Landing. Plantings everwhere. Birds, ducks, eagles, osprey, pelicans and lots more. There is water on almost every hole. The day we played it was windy so playing a new course on a windy day gave me all the excuse I needed after I tallied up my 94. Lost 6 balls in the process but it was well worth it. Beautiful experience. Good luck and bring extra balls.

Buddy and I are senior bogie golfers. Starter suggested we play from the whites. 5729 yards. Good advice. Conditions were OK. Nice layout but like a lot of courses on So. Florida, it could use some rain. Greens held approach shots. Some greens looked ugly but rolled smooth. We liked the layout and the staff were great. I'm here for the winter and I plan on playing Copperhead regularly. Good value. 2:44 start time, got dark a little early so we couldn't play the 18 hole.
