Foster Golf Links
Played On 06/16/2018Very accommodating, but very slow
My wife and I play here 10-15 times a year. The course was in very good condition and it even seems like the drainage has improved over the past few years. Staff is always friendly and the drinks at the turn are consistently good.
On the downside, the pace was the worst we've ever seen. We only managed 17 holes, having leap-frogged a poorly behaved foursome with 3 open holes ahead of them, but a 5-hour pace on this short course is too much. There was a 3-group backup on every hole of the front 9. Nothing a marshal couldn't handle, but we've never seen one here.
Lewis River Golf Course
Played On 07/24/2017Scenic course, great greens
In town for work, played the course alone. Great M-Th deal, $35 for unlimited golf, cart, and $5 food voucher anytime after 3. Plenty of trees, but not too many. Really enjoyed the layout. The outward 9 is short so it's a good warmup for a lengthy back side. I rode but it is a great course for walking - planning to play again before leaving town.
Riverbend Golf Complex
Played On 05/21/2017Good course, but no amenities
We play here 8-10 times a year. Course is in consistently good shape, but for some reason, they can't keep a restaurant or a liquor license. At full price weekend rates, we had no opportunity to purchase beer or food other than convenience store snacks, and there was no cart service on a perfect, sunny day. If this is going to be the case, they should offer lower rates, and certainly relax their cooler policy.
Other than that, they do a nice job with the course.
Blue Heron Golf Course
Played On 07/01/2016So-so course
First time here. Some of the sight lines off the tee are awful. Not only is the overgrowth excessive, but the fairway is not even visible on three holes. Heard from the course pro that there was a lot of flood damage in 2015 and they are trying to bring it back around. Greens were very good in spots, and lumpy with lots of bare spots in others. Seems like about half the course in under construction. Overall, a low to average experience, although all the staff was exceptional and really tried to make the day a good one.
Twin Rivers Golf Course
Played On 08/09/2015Ok for hackers, but not for the price
Even with discounted tee times (GolfNow), we paid $78 for a twosome with a cart. The rate is fair, but not for what they offer. Our cart barely made it around the course. The greens were very shaggy and inconsistent from hole to hole, and the fella working the pro shop was pretty cranky. It's a solid course for a beginner with VERY wide fairways, but even on a not so busy day, it still took us 4+ hours to get around. Having said all that, we had a fun day... just don't get your expectations up.
