The Preserve Golf Club
Played On 04/08/2022Tough layout in very average condition
Played early on a Friday morning in approx 4 hours. Fairways and greens have been over seeded. Tee boxes and sand traps air in poor condition. Recent rain may have contributed to hard muddy traps. Greens were a little slow but ok. This is an average public course for the Bradenton area that could use some more maintenance. Layout is challenging with lots of water.
The River Club
Played On 04/05/2022Grumpy starter and shaggy greens but good layout
We had an 8:52 am tee time on a Tuesday. We arrived only to find that we had to wait 40 minutes while 4-5 groups crossed over from the back nine to the first tee. There was no communication from the starter . Ideally the course could have given everyone waiting free range balls to kill time. Pace of play was ok once we got going. Fairways and traps were in good shape. Greens were shaggy but in good condition. Our experience was not worth the morning rate of $70 plus tax.
Heritage Harbour Golf Club
Played On 02/11/2022Good layout poor condition. What a shame.
I’ve played this course a number of times over the years and this was the worst experience I’ve had. We teed off a half hour late due to lack of carts. The course was dry, hard and barren despite rain in recent days. It took us 5 hours to play as we had to wait on most holes. Areas around greens were barren. The greens were hard and 3-4 of them had a weedy grass poking through which made putting difficult. Apparently the owners plan to start a housing development on some of the holes. While there was no sign of that when I played one gets the sense that corners are being cut to save $. Too bad as this is an above average layout. Save your $ and play somewhere else.

Played On 12/01/2021Paint the tee blocks …..otherwise great layout
The course was in better condition than when I last played it in early 2020. New carts with GPS screens help with yardage. Several times our cart stopped with a message saying we were in a sensitive area when we were actually on a cart path beside the green. Also the white tee blocks need to be repainted to avoid confusion as to what tees to hit from. This course has a better than average layout and is a good challenge. Definitely worth the $40 we paid with a Hot Deal.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting Heritage Harbour Golf Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.

Played On 11/26/2021Good value for the $
We teed off in a foursome at 7:37 and finished at 11:30. Course was in better condition from what I remember in 2020. Pro shop and starter reception was friendly. Greens were in good shape. Course presents a fairly good challenge for the mid-handicap player. Lots of water. I’ll play there again. Good value if under $45.
The Club at Eaglebrooke
Played On 03/13/2020Nice layout
Played March 13,2020 in warm dry conditions. The course is in good shape and is a challenging test of golf. I found the greens to be slow but true. Lots of water but the fairways are generous. Good value at $40-50 during March. Greens need to be faster before I would give a 5* rating.
Thank you so much for your review, Bryan! We are happy to see you enjoyed our course. We take your feedback seriously, and hope to see you back soon.
The Preserve Golf Club
Played On 01/23/2019Lots of water and good greens
It had been several since I last played here. Conditions have improved greatly. The greens are very good and the tees and fairways have been over seeded. Course was challenging even from the white tees. Pace of play was slow with line ups at a few holes. We played in about 4 hrs 40 minutes. There is lots of water and some narrow landing areas off the tee.
Heritage Harbour Golf Club
Played On 12/10/2018Great layout with average conditions
Played here on a cool Monday afternoon. The course was empty so played solo hitting 2 balls all the way around. HH has an above average layout with several longish par 4’s. Greens were true and in decent condition. Many of the sand traps need attention. Fairways were generally ok. Good location if your spouse wants to shop at the nearby outlet mall while you golf...... perfect!
St. Petersburg Country Club
Played On 03/28/2018Conditions worse than usual
I normally enjoy playing this course. However, the course was very dry and fairways were sparse in many areas the day we played. Traps are of inconsistent quality. Greens are in average condition for a private course fast and tough to read. I'll play here again, but, in the meantime pray for rain!
The Groves Golf Course
Played On 03/13/2018Slow play and slow greens
We teed off at 2 pm and finished at 6:15. We followed 4 novice golfers who were sharing clubs and didn't know how to play ready golf. What should of been a 3 hour round took 4:15. We never saw a Marshall. Course conditions were generally OK. Tee boxes however were only fair. Greens had a few bare patches and were very slow despite being closely cut. This course is good for the casual round and is really geared for the novice golfer.
Lakewood National Golf Club - Commander Course
Played On 02/18/2018Roller Coaster Greens
Your putter will get a workout on the massive undulating greens. This is a championship layout. Great driving range with Titleist range balls. Fairways are very wide and forgiving. Traps are in perfect condition. What the fairways give the greens take away. Green complexes are huge and run very smooth and quick. Greens are new and don't hold iron shots well. Hard to make a ball mark or get much spin. Definitely worth playing. This is one of the best public courses in Bradenton. We teed off as a foursome of sub 100 golfers at 2:12 and were finished at 6:20.

I always enjoy playing here. Pro shop reception is always friendly and respectful. Good practice range and putting green. The tees, fairways and greens were in good shape as one would expect at a private club. Sand traps were not in consistent condition. The layout is good and winds its way through Lakewood Estates. Lots of challenging par 3's and 4's. Par 5's are OK but not as strong as the other holes in my opinion. The neighbourhood is sketchy in places but is well set back from the course. If I spent more time down here in the winter months I would get a membership. Easy walking course as well.
The River Club
Played On 11/13/2017Hopefully our timing was bad
We played on a Monday AM. Our greeter at the bag drop told us that the club had just planted their rye grass for the winter season the week before and course conditions were good. Unfortunately the greens were extremely slow, bumpy and wet which ruined the round. Tee boxes were shaggy as well. Not worth the money. I've played the River Club several times before and have usually enjoyed the layout and course conditions. I should of asked for a refund but we had to scoot afterwards due to slow play. All in all not a good day.

This course has a challenging layout and is in good condition. You need to be straight off the tee to score here. This club has a traditional country club feel to it. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. It was encouraging to see a number of juniors getting instruction as we were coming off the course upon completion of our round. Pace of play was slower than it should be at 4:40 and I didn't see a Marshall the whole afternoon. Good practice range and putting green. Well worth trying out if you can keep it straight off the tee.
The River Club
Played On 03/20/2017Nice layout with fast but true greens
I played in the early afternoon on a GolfNow "hot deal". Pro Shop had to drive me out to meet my group on the first green who had been allowed to tee off early. We then got stuck for awhile behind a sixsome. That got sorted out after we called pro shop to complain. Never saw a Marshall or beverage cart all afternoon. This course has a better than average layout. Houses are well set back from the course. Greens were firm but true. Sand traps appear to have been refilled recently and were in good condition. Course conditions were dry but OK given lack of rain this winter. I will go back if I can get a hot deal.
Apollo Beach Golf & Sea Club
Played On 02/17/2015Worse course condition wise that I have played this year
This course is not well maintained. Fairways are patchy and greens are quite bumpy. I played for $24 and the course isn't worth it. Too bad because the layout is good.
Seminole Lake Country Club
Played On 02/13/2015Good layout. Fairways wet. Greens hard.
We played on a cool day with temps in the low 50's. The course was empty so pace of play was very good. This course has a decent layout and presents a number of long second shots. We played the blue tees. We found the course to be wet and muddy in spots despite lack of rain. The greens on back nine were hard and not receptive to good shots. Ok course for $45 during high season.
Sanctuary at River Strand Golf and Country Club
Played On 02/12/2015Excellent conditions: well worth playing
This course is among the best conditioned in Bradenton. Pro shop staff and starter were both very friendly and professional. I have nothing negative to say. Some great holes and a good test of golf.
Dunedin Golf Club
Played On 02/08/2015Solid layout with good greens
This is a traditional parkland type course. Conditions were quite good considering the moderate price. A couple of holes on back nine were very wet and I understand this is common. The greens were very good and larger than on some Donald Ross courses I have played. There are fewer houses and less water than on many Florida courses. I will play there again.
Clearwater Country Club
Played On 02/06/2015Small and very tricky greens.
This is a public course owned by the City of Clearwater. It is very busy with carts flying all over the place. The front nine has holes converging and balls flying everywhere. Conditions were good for a public course. Our round took 5.25 hours. There were 4 groups waiting to tee off at the 4 th hole ( short par 4). Once we cleared that the pace of play was OK. Back nine is more interesting but I won't bother to play there again. The greens are very small with big slopes.
Thank you for taking the time to provide us feedback on your experience. We are sorry we didn’t meet your expectations during your visit. As it relates to turf conditions in “winter” months of January & February, the off-color yellow brown conditions are related to multiple days of heavy frost we experienced in late January. During winter, turf color does not rush back to green and lush due to nighttime temps staying below 60 degrees for most of Jan/Feb/often into March. The greens can take on a purple, yellow, or brown hue during cold snaps and we treat them weekly with liquid fertilizer to bring them back to a greener tint. The dry winter conditions (with very limited rainfall) do create firm and fast conditions and tighter fairways. Overall, in the marketplace, we have priced ourselves accordingly and offer a very good value during the high-demand months. Our starters and rangers do their best to keep players on pace but in certain circumstances, players can get unruly and somewhat vulgar at times. Finally, this summer we plan to renovate the entire golf course, new greens, new turfgrass, rebuilt bunkers, and new laser-leveled tee boxes with new turfgrass. In the fall, we will reopen and have an entirely new fresh look. Thank you for your time and we hope you will consider visiting again.
