Ironhorse Golf Course
Played On 04/14/2023Good times
Because of the rain we have received, the grass was very green and well maintained. Greens are in decent shape but there was some bare spots repair being done. A couple of fairways are also under repair. Sand traps are not really traps since not kept fresh. My only complaint is the rough is really rough. No hope to find your ball if you hit it there. A great course for any type of player, but lots of water to challenge your game. Remember that this course has no trees to distract your shots, but no shade from the sun either.

This course is wide open for players who like the open air and does not destroy you if you don't hit perfectly straight. No trees on the fairways, but there is water to lose your ball into. Greens are large in size and are well groomed for a public course. Use a golf website to set a tee time and play here at great prices!

The area has had plenty of rain and there are wet spots that showed just that. Some of the fairways still were soggy and the green were slow, which made play a bit more giving to hit on. Conditions were excellent on the course as it was well mowed and the rough was not so tall to be a complete lost cause if you hit into them. But note, if there is some wind, it is really windy here , for the lack of trees or woody cover.
Wide fairways give the average golfer a chance to still recover if you do hit a bad drive, but there are still enough challenging water hazards and sand traps to frustrate even a low handicapper. Course play was great as I was able to pass the slower group players with no problems and got 18 holes of play just a bit over 3 hours.
There is a full service clubhouse good enough to serve great meals and was recently remodeled.
Since the rates are quite reasonable for a quality course, this is a must play for any golfer.
Lakeview Country Club
Played On 09/11/2014Cold tourney day
Had a great time for the first time at this private member course in a special Vet tourney. The weather was really cold for early September (56 deg for the high and cloudy!)
Course was on the wet side, but in great shape. It is a 9 hole course, but have a lot of hills, so it is not just flat fairways. No real water to worry about hitting over but lots of doglegs and trees to avoid. If you really want to help your score in a scramble, have a lady in the group, as many holes gives them a real advantage at the tee box.
Love to play here again, but not a member, so I"ll just enjoy this time.
