This Summerville SC course had just been soaked with a couple of days of rain and more was forecast later in the day. The pro shop was very proactive in making sure as a first timer there I knew my way around and seemed genuinely glad to have us on the course even with a GolfNow tee time.A local with tee time behind us offered to play with us to help guide us through the we course but since it was our 31st anniversary we declined. Lots of water around the course and we lost probably more of it share of balls to tough playing conditions and lack of course knowledge. I would definitely love to play this course again under better conditions. Lots of undulating fairways and greens like alot of coastal courses so dryer conditions are pretty crucial for a decent score, but still a fun day. The clubhouse was clean and the hotdogs were good. The greens were in good shape for the most part but slow due to wetness.

I haven't played here in a couple of years because of course conditions compared to price to play.I decided to give it another try since the golfnow price was what the course was worth the last time I played. To my surprise the overall course conditions are the best I've seen in this area in quite some time. Only complaints I would have is the bunkers need a few more inches of Good sand to get out of properly. Also no sand bottles to fix my divots from lousy shots lol . Overall a good experience and I will definitely be back again. As a side note there is water everywhere so bring some extra balls just to be safe!
Foxfire Resort & Golf Club - Grey Fox Course
Played On 08/21/2016Weather beaten
After reading many good reviews I decided to take the 2pm golf slot in scorching weather through the golfnow.com site (unbeatable prices). I have to say it was barely worth the price because the bunkers were mostly unplayable, greens were barren and burned out. There were no drinking stations on the course until the eleventh, fifteenth, seventeenth holes. And since the clubhouse is NOT at the turn we were at heatstroke stage at 4pm in August! I would definitely think twice before coming back any time soon.

Starts out with a par 5 dogleg right so a little rough way to begin a round, and a par 5 to end it. Made the turn at 11am and grill wasn't really prepared for guests. Yesterday's hotdogs just put on the rollers but had to be put in the microwave for us to eat. Hadn't started the deep fryer so our fries came 15 min. after our dogs. Smoking allowed in the dining room! Course was in pretty good shape though. Greens in very good shape for the heat. Bunker sand only about 3 inches deep but playable for the most part. Great course for the money, no doubt about it. Will play again at Golf Now prices!
Twin Lakes Country Club

Great little course for the money. Greens are in really good shape and fairways as well. Greens are on the small side which reminded me of some similar courses in Kansas City,Ks. Does need better yardage markers but with my golfpad GPS it's all good. Going to play again this weekend with my wife.
