Horrible customer service

It's a nice golf course but over priced. There are other courses that charge less that are just as nice or better. We finished in 5 hours but that's typical over there for the weekend. Only real gripe about the course is that customer service is horrible. The starter in the pro shop extremely rude when I asked if I could ride as a single due to my medical condition. He said I would have to pay 30 dollars extra to do so. He said that he's heard all sorts of story and excuses from other golfers in the past and couldn't waive the outrageous fee. I offered to show him my scars from my organ transplants but he refused. So he implied that I was lying. Spoke to the GM and he said the same thing. Staff here is condescending in general. Thing is, there are plenty of extra golf carts available. The green fees are expensive enough. There are no courses that I have played at locally that charges to ride single cart. I will never play here again.

Great course but trashy golfers

I always enjoy playing Royal Vista due to the course layout, moderately challenging holes and friendly staff. However, I don't think I will be back due to 2 unfortunate incidents not involving the the course itself, but some low class and trashy Korean golfers that this course seems to attract. I'm not racist because I'm Korean as well but some of these golfers need a lesson in proper etiquette and manners. After hitting a perfect drive on hole 1 on the east course and golfer 2 groups ahead drive right to my ball which was 150 yards(absolutely crushed it) from the pin and blatantly hit my ball while we were watching. I was playing a pro v1x and asked him if he hit my ball. He said no, and I asked him to see if it was my ball. Low and behold it was! I had my initials in green color and my writing and I pointed that out to him. He swore up and down and he had the same initials. I told him to he could have my ball since he was pathetic. On the following hole, I hooked one left next to the green which is a par 3 for the following hole. Another group was hitting their approach shot into that green. I asked one of the men if the ball he was playing was him. He denied it and wouldn't let me see the ball in question which is of course, highly suspicious. His buddy then told me my ball was further ahead in a very rude tone of voice. I went ahead and looked for my ball but there were only range balls so he lied to my face. Such trashy golfers do like to play this course so if anyone doesn't want their balls stolen, stay away. Such a shame because the course itself is a beautiful layout and not overly challenging. I won't be coming back anytime soon until these Korean golfers get a clue and some integrity.

Challenging layout very windy

My experience was somewhat disappointing yet I could see hope. It was very windy this day gusting at 20-30 mph. The back 9 was closed and all the greens on front 9 were aerated. Staff could've informed the golfers ahead of time about these matters but didn't therefore it put a damper on my round. I joined a wonderful gentleman who was an ex-marine which made my round better. The layout is challenging in that a lot of the holes have water hazards and it's very narrow surrounded by houses on all the holes. The course plays very short however and 3 of the holes were driveable for me being that they were downwind and short. Hopefully the management take heed and inform golfers if there are going to be any major changes to the course. I would only recommend this course once they finish aerating the greens and opening up the back 9.

Very slow for weekday but fun

First time playing Rio Hondo. I enjoyed the weather and round however there were a couple issues. The pace of play was horrible especially for a weekday. It took over 5 hours to complete. The course smelled horrendous on certain holes because the residential are surrounding it was covered in manure. The course itself was challenging because it was narrow and had some water hazards. I hit the ball over 300 yards but am crooked off the tee so it presented a challenge. The staff was friendly. Overall it was an enjoyable day. I would recommend however, the pace of play could be faster.

I always enjoy the days I have the opportunities to play Los Serranos. It's a fairly long but wide and fair course. I am a very long driver so the layout suits my game. The weather was perfect and I was paired with 2 other golfers. We got through our round in 3.5 hours which was good considering it was a weekday. The golf course itself was in pretty good condition for a public course. Staff was friendly as well. I would recommend Los Serranos to any golfer of all skill levels.

Never again

I had promo codes so this round was virtually free minus transaction fee. First of all, it seems as though the course was jammed right into the heart of a residential neighborhood so it felt extremely cramped and narrow. The fact that the fairways were only 20 to 60 yards wide which is absolutely ridiculous, made it challenging although short. I found myself mostly driving irons and 3 metal off the tee. I only pulled the driver out 5 times. I admit that I am very long off the tee but crooked. The course was not in good shape and there were a lot of bare spots in the fairway and rough. Greens were bumpy as well. Pace of play was ok, finished in 4 hours. Staff was friendly. I would not recommend Azusa Greens however.

Interesting layout...

Upland Hills CC is located in the middle of a residential neighborhood. That being said, there isn't a lot of land so the course plays extremely narrow. Beware the long and crooked golfer such as myself. This course punishes those who stray away from the fairway with water hazards on many holes and lots of ob. I didn't have a good round but that of course was on me. The greens and fairways were in fair shape. The back drop was absolutely gorgeous since the course is set at the base of the Sierra Madre mountains. Staff was friendly.

Would recommend

Located in Diamond Bar/Walnut, this course is a gem. We played during a holiday week so it was very crowded. Managed to finish in over 5 hours. I do enjoy the layout and the shape of the course was good for it being a public course. There are 27 holes. We played the South and East. South is short and very narrow with a lot of ob on both sides so it presented a challenge for me since I'm long and crooked off the tee. The East side was longer and wide which I always take advantage of and like. Weather was perfect and I made 3 birdies shooting 6 over par. Got to spend time with the family from out of town so it was special for me. I would recommend Royal Vista to anyone.
