Downers Grove Golf Club
Played On 06/16/2018Somewhat Expensive But Great Course
I have played this course for many years. I have always loved the experiences, including the leagues that I have been apart of here. Overall, everything is kept very well. Fairways excellent, rough fair, and I have never had any issues with the greens. Water is an issue on holes 2, 3, 5, 6, 9. I recommend this course to any type of golfer if they are willing to pay a good amount of money to play.
Tamarack Golf Club
Played On 06/16/2018Overall Great Course With A Great Price!
I have golfed here many times in the past few years. With the app GolfNow, I can play for $24 and sometimes cheaper if there is a hot deal. Now with a price like that, one would think that the quality of the round wouldn't be so good. On the contrary, the course was fantastic. Well kept fairways as well as fairly cut rough. The greens were not the best but they weren't the worst. Lot ball marks and debris from the trees that need to be cleared. Other than that, it is a truly remarkable course. The staff in the clubhouse was friendly, helpful, and understanding, which goes a long way for me. The pace of play was subpar as well. The tee times were back up when we got there. We had a 3:02 tee time, but didn't tee off until 3:20ish. I love this course, will be back very soon, and recommend it to any golfer of any skill-level!
Twin Lakes Golf Course
Played On 06/10/2018Good, Cheep, Par 3 With Fun Holes
I have played this course ever since I was a little kid. I remember hitting driver off the tee as a kid and now hit a 7-iron. I personally love par-3s so this course fits my likes. The staff is very friendly. You only need to have a tee time for the weekends as the weekdays are less busy. The course is well kept all around, but sometimes the greens can sometimes have a good amount of ball marks and tree debris. Water is dangerous on holes 1, 2, 4, and 7. Love this course to death, will be back, and recommend to a beginner for ease, and more advanced golfers to practice their mid-range irons.
Water's Edge Golf Club
Played On 05/17/2018Everything Was Great Except ONE Thing.
The day before my foursome's round there was torrential rain that I thought could hinder the quality of play, but the course turned out to be in great shape. Right before our round had started, however, the clouds parted and the sun began to shine to the point where the ground on the back nine was completely dry. As we carted our way to the first hole, we were greeted by the started who was the perfect person to start your round with. He kindly told us what the course was all about. Talked about the hard holes and how we should attack them. Talked about the weather and how we should adjust our game to it. He also mentioned that there is no one in front of us for about 4-holes and no one behind us for 30 minutes. After a 10-minute conversation, he sent us off. The course was wet but definitely playable. The fairways were kept very nicely, and the rough was cut fairly. greens were excellent and very unique on every hole. Be aware, there are a lot of water hazards on a lot of the holes.
The only downside was that we caught up to the group in front of us by the 10th hole, probably due to halfway house goodies. the back nine probably played an hour longer than it should have. Other than that, I enjoyed this course and the people who work here. I'll definitely come back and recommend this to golfers who need a little challenge and to golfers who want a good time.
