Smoky Mountain Country Club
Played On 09/07/2022Not for the “faint of heart”
The course is beautiful, in the Smokies so surrounded by stunning views. The greens were definitely not in the best shape - sadly, it didn’t appear that very many golfers cared about repairing their divots. This course goes up and down the mountain. The 5th tee was high up and you hit down a fairway to a cliff edge and, from there, hit down to the green. After we teed off, it started to rain pretty hard. We sheltered briefly beside the cart path under cover of some shrubs. When the rain let up, we hit over the edge… that’s when the terrifying part began. The cart paths went steeply downhill with hairpin turns back and forth. Even in early September there were a significant amount of leaves down on the paths. As we started down slowly as we could with my foot on the brake - the rear of the cart skidded around. The carts have automatic brake locks, so it was difficult to control the speed of descent without locking up and skidding. Definitely not for the “faint of heart” ! If I played here again, I’d definitely only come on a day where no rain was forecasted. It was a fun course with some challenging holes. There are no restroom facilities on the course. The pro shop / restaurant was closed by the time we finished (around 5:45 pm).
Carolina National Golf Club - Egret Nine
Played On 07/04/2018Nice course - but...
The staff was friendly and welcoming. Nice Pro Shop. We didn’t eat here, so can’t speak to that. Beautiful layout of the course, but cart paths were in rough shape in a lot of places - you could get jolted out of the cart if you weren’t watching carefully as there were big chunks missing or broken. The greens were not good... most were sand in large part, so balls did not roll true. All that said, it was a fun course to play. We played Egret and Heron. Egret was not as challenging as Heron (or maybe the heat was impacting us more on the 2nd nine - entirely possible!). Pace of play was very good... we didn’t have to wait and didn’t feel “pushed”. Played 18 in 4 hrs total. With a little work on the greens and cart paths, this would be a really enjoyable course.
Old Greenwood Golf Course
Played On 08/28/2017Beautiful course, but very slow
The course was very nice & well maintained. Greens were a bit rough and didn't roll true. The biggest issue was pace of play... took 5 hours to play 18 and no marshal on the course to keep things moving. We had to wait at least 5 minutes on every tee - and others were stacking up behind us.

Wife and I have heard great comments about this course, so we decided to make the 145 mile drive. Let me just say we weren't dissapponinted and you won't be either. Many great views as the course winds up and down through the Ohio countryside.
Belterra Casino Golf Club
Played On 7/21/2013Great Course
Very challenging holes on this course. Ball placement a must on several holes. Great to have the GPS on the cart as it helped out in club selection.
Heritage Hills Golf Resort
Played On 7/9/2013Best course in the York, PA area
Very challenging golf course with rolling terrain, streams and ponds. Though we were allowed to drive the cart on the course it had several areas of cart paths that were broken and washed out.
Harbor Links at Sagamore Resort
Played On 7/5/2013Course sits next to a lake.
I have played this course 5 times and will keep coming back. Great value for the money as the course has rolling terrain, winding stream, water shots and many elevation changes.
Willowbrook Country Club
Played On 6/29/2013Nice course except for the bugs
My wife and I have played this course 4 times in the past two years. It rained a little at the turn. We sat under a tree until it lighten up. When we got on the back we caught up to what I would believe a group of longtime members. What really got us was that they were playing a seven-some. We had to follow them the last four holes and they did not even acknowledge us. Simply put we were not allowed to play through.
