The Golf Club of Cypress Creek
Played On 02/24/2024Play this course a lot
I played on Saturday 2:07 the first 9 holes took 3hours and 20 minutes. They cram tee times at 7 minutes intervals. So the course gets crazy backed up. They refuse to put a ranger out there to keep pace of play. The slowest round in Tampa area. The only way they will do anything is no one book there for a couple of weeks and maybe they will spread out the tee times or spend money on a ranger. Right now its the worst course in Tampa as far as time. I take that back Bloomingdales is historically slow because they are under the same ownership. Quit playing that course about 2 years ago.
Huntington Hills Golf & Country Club
Played On 12/23/2023it’s ok not a great layout
The course has good reviews We drove because I wanted to play rolling hills in FL. The course was wide open fairways. Tee boxes were in pretty good condition. The greens were fast and pretty large. Some of the holes were a little strange. 10 for example no great place to land drive. 12 210 to water from back tees. There was a couple in the front that were wonky as well. What I mean is that driver taken out of hand and then you have a 180 put to the green. I wouldn’t travel again to play this course again. Kind of in the middle of nowhere. Way better courses in Tampa area.

Got a hot deal. So the value was there. Fairways were just ok. Sand traps were in good condition and greens were hard and didn’t hold anything.
Brooksville Country Club
Played On 09/10/2023Simple layout back 7 was interesting
The first 12 holes were basic pastures converted to golf course. the last 12-18 holes had elevated tees elevated greens and was fun. The greens were very slow and the ruff was mostly weeds. Needs some TLC.
Staff was nice they had ice and water no beverage cart.

My sons and I played this course for the first time. The greens were nice and fast. Lots a water that we didn’t realize. The course needs marking for yardage. Seems like the number on sprinkler heads were worn off. Tee boxes were in fairly good shape and the fairways were very nice and well kept, even though I wasn’t on many. Sand traps were nice. Will play again
Sandpiper Golf Club - Lakes/Palms Course
Played On 07/09/20212nd time to play
My son and I went there for a second time. we were the first to tee off so we flew they the first 9. the second 9 slowed up as they were teeing off on both 9’s. We still finished in 3:40. Course had a few wet holes but the starter let us no which holes they were and that they were CPO. This is a links style course so the green are small. The greens were slow. Will go back with a Golf now special. Otherwise it’s a little overpriced for the course.

The pro shop had a very nice selection of golf shirts. Next time I’ll buy one. on to golf. the practice facilities were nice had a great pitching area a driving range which was a little narrow but well marked. The starter was super nice.
There is not a lot of water. So I didn’t loose a ball. That’s a first in a long time. They make up with sand strategically positioned. Believe me I was at the beach a lot. Traps are well kept lots of soft sand. Greens ran true. Our playing Partner Bob was super nice and very knowledgeable of the course which helped us a lot. Good time will be back.

Played On 01/07/2021Played with my boys and an FBI agent
Let me apologize once again to our FBI agent who by bad luck of the draw got paired with me and my middle and youngest son who have just taken up the game in the past couple of months. When they were younger golf was an old man sport. Now that they have finished their High school years they are experiencing the wonderful game of golf. So first a big shout out to Mike for his patience.
Now for the course, it was in pretty good shape Greens were receptive when I hit them. Mostly noticed b/c our play in partner Mike was hitting them. Not so much me and my boys. The black boxes where Mike hit were in really good shape the blues where we played were in good shape Fairways were in decent shape. Any day with my boys are good days. Will definitely be back.

My son and I got a hot deal, it’s worth it. The course was in great shape greens ran a little slow but faster than Cypress Green where we play as well as Sandpiper in sun city. The lay out was very nice some wholes were a little unfair. 14 comes to mind. Need to open up more for the approach shot.
Overall I like the course, I will be back.
Sandpiper Golf Club - Lakes/Palms Course
Played On 02/28/2021First time at Sandpiper
This is the first time I played Sandpiper. They have 3 9 hole courses. We played Palms and Oaks. They are very different. The Palms had bigger greens than the Oaks. Oaks was more like a Scottish links course that had postage stamp like greens. Better have a good short game for the Oaks. As a whole the courses were short and wide open so it made for a fun around. The course was in good shape, the sand traps need some work (believe me I was in a lot of them), the staff was nice and the pace of play was quick. A threesome let us play thru. We caught up with next 3 some rather quickly. But we still played 18 in under 31/2 hours. Place was packed but pace of play was great. Nice range and putting area.
The River Club
Played On 12/26/2020First time.. will be back!
We just moved to the Tampa area and this is the 4th course we played over the holidays. This is by far the best. The staff was amazing the girl behind the bar set us up with a cooler super friendly. . The cart girl was nice and the lady at the turn cooking hamburgers and hotdogs was so very sweet. The corse was by far the nicest. Well manicured from tee box to green. Greens ran very true and fast. We will definitely be back.
Thanks so much! Tony

Played with my 3boys. They played it a few days before and wanted me to play the course. The guy in the shop was very nice. They let us go early b/c storms were coming in later. It did rain on us some but was still playable. Many people left so pass of play was very good. I thought the course was a little tight. the greens and fairways were in good shape. Will play again
The Florida Club
Played On 04/17/2017Nice track
The course is wide open. Like many south Florida courses it was very dry. However I thought the greens ran well and the tee boxes were in good shape. The fairways were brown but the drives would run forever. I had to play the course more like a TX course and ran the ball up to the green. I thought it was a fun round and good shape in spite of the drought.

The pace of play was Excellent (foursome in 4 hours). The greens were hard and didn't hold a shot. The course was in dire need of water. It's very wide open and has nice layout Staff was friendly
Jensen Beach Golf Club
Played On 01/15/2017Nice course
The staff was nice. We had lunch in the grill and the food was very good. The lady that waited on us was very friendly. The course was in good shape. Tee boxes were some of the best of any public course that I have played in FL. The fairways were open and in good condition. The greens were nice and green but ran very slow. The reason for the 3 star rating was the pace of play was extremely slow. I am not sure that it's an all time thing or just a Sunday in season thing. We teed off 15 min later than what are tee time was stated. After our second hole of waiting the twosome ahead asked if we wanted to join this helped some on the waiting. However I think the layout also contributed to the slow play. You start out on a par 5 which automatically can slow play if you have a short hitting foursome and then a long hitting players behind.
