Bonaire Golf and Country Club - Island/River
Played On 09/27/2020Poorly Managed
The course is in good shape. It has good layout that should fairly challenge any golfer. The problem seems to be the course management. Upon arrival there where several RV's set up in the parking lot. A large group ( 20 - 30 age males) were obviously staying there partying for the weekend. Not sure how this is allowed on any course. Our group of 12 golfers had the misfortune of falling in behind these people. The group of campers formed into a group of playing seven and another group of five plus a few other foursomes. As the day progressed they became drunk, playing loud music, doing donuts in the carts and generally being disrespectful of the course and everyone else. Our final pace of play was 5:35 hours on a course that should be played in 4 hours. We became aware that this group where given carts in the morning and told to play as much as they wanted. Management was contacted and notified of the issues yet did nothing to resolve the problem.
There are numerous golf courses in the area that are all in equal or better condition. My suggestion is to play anywhere else but Bonaire to avoid the potential playing conditions we experienced promoted by a management who obviously doesn't care.
Baseline Golf Course
Played On 03/07/2019Beautiful Executive Course
There is not enough can be said about the condition and beauty of this course. I have never played an executive length course that was as well taken care of as this one. The issues with this course is no tee time reservations. Having to wait 45 minutes just to get a cart and then waiting in line at the first tee for 50 minutes to tee off is ridiculous. Apparently according to staff this is a regular day. Its a beautiful course but over priced for an executive length with a very slow pace of play and extreme waiting period just to tee off.. Unless you have absolutely nothing better to do than sit and wait for 2 hours to tee off play somewhere else.
Batteaux Creek Golf Club
Played On 07/17/2018Facilities Are Tired
I have played this course a few times and I must say the course is always in good condition. Fairways where well cut and greens rolled true. The course is not overly challenging when played from the appropriate tee blocks. No surprises when played within your skill level and yardages. The clubhouse is getting old and tired and the rates for food and beverages are an obvious attempt to rake in on the tourist dollar. $15:00 for a draft beer and tuna sandwich is extreme. if you want to charge a premium fee for golf then the entire facility should be of equal value. Good course but mediocre and over priced for the overall value.
Brooklea Golf and Country Club - 18-hole Championship
Played On 06/07/2018Needs Lots Of Work And Attention
This course is on the decline and shows lack of pride of ownership and management. Lobby littered with empty boxes (garbage) was still there after a 5 hour round. Washrooms not clean, strong odor of urine and needed vacuuming. No beverage cart on the course on a busy weekend. A Starter who was too lazy to get off his chair to do his job of simply handing out cart keys or providing any insight. Followed a group of 5 right from the first tee, how is this allowed ...oh yea lazy Starter. This course is full of large sand traps however none where playable. Some show some signs of repair however this has been going on for 2 years and none have been repaired. Numerous neglected flower beds around the course full of weeds. Many areas around the course that could use a string or trimmer mower. Generally this course is looking really tired and poorly maintained. It has the potential but lacks an apparent concern of management. Lots of other course in the area at a better value.
Heritage Hills Golf Club
Played On 07/08/2013Great value, good course
The course layout varies from holes cut through wooded areas to open fields. No surprises to any hole but attention must be paid to yardages. Greens have lots of contour creating some very interesting pin placements. Many deals offered at this facility which creates great value for the money.
Simoro Golf Links
Played On 07/02/2013Not bad for a low end course
Would appear from other reviews the course suffers from either extreme wet or extreme dry conditions. In my case extreme dry conditions resulting in uncontrollable bounces and rolls. Greens are for the most part small and rounded, fairways needed to be cut, very difficult to find your ball at times. It is what it is, a low end course that for the right price is not a bad trek
Horseshoe Resort - Valley
Played On 5/30/2013Great course for the money
This course has a great layout with several interesting and picturesque holes. Requires some thought and planning and not using the driver off the tee for every hole. Greens where well manicured with lots of grade changes for interesting hole placements.
Seguin Valley Golf and Country Club
Played On 01/26/2013Has potential but not there yet !!
The course has great potential but is certainly not worth what they are charging to play there. Very scenic and interesting layout but needs attention. Traps where not groomed at all, different fairways and ruff required mowing. Greens had numerous ball marks that neither other players or greens keeper seemed to be interested in repairing. Fairways where very deceiving in perceived yardages many blind landing areas. No yardage book available and course not in my GPS data base. Would have to play the course at least 3 times before you would be comfortable with your shots off the tee. Most fairways are down into a valley with an uphill approach to the green. Clubhouse has finally opened but nowhere's near properly set up for business. If the current owner continues to develop and maintain the course it will someday be worth the value. As it stands if you dont have discounted green fee rate is certainly not worth the fees. If you find a cheap rate it is an interesting course to play.
Brooklea Golf and Country Club - 18-hole Championship
Played On 09/21/2012Over priced for what it is
The front nine and back nine are like two different courses. Layout shows obvious signs of being an original nine hole course with a second nine added many years later. Front nine is an interesting layout with many challenging holes. Back nine is basically a straight narrow tree lined layout that becomes very boring. Many tournaments at this facility so best to check tee times first.
