The greens were in good condition and it was cart path only due to complete overseeding of the fairways. The fsirways appeared to be healthy with some new growth.

This course really surprised me with the condition and layout. The greens rolled fantastic & the fairways actually have grass on them. With numerous tee box offerings it will fit any handicap level.The staff was very friendly & helpful. When you go there for the first time make sure to get a good explanation of the layout & location of the 10th tee as it is a considerable distance from the clubhouse through the community.
I wish I had tried it sooner becsuse I'm heading out of the area until next winter & this course will be on my "must play list" for sure when I return.

This is one of my favorite courses in SW Florida. I was a little disappointed with a 9 hole replay rate of $45 however. That's about what I pay for an 18 hole replay elsewhere. I'll be limiting the amount I play there from now on concidering I like to play 36 holes most days but I still highly recommend this course.

I play every golf day all winter on many courses, many times 36 holes, as I did today at Magnolia and this is stll my favorite course, period!!!

If it wasn't for the greens id give this course a higher rating. I like the layout & the stsff is friendly.
I hope this course doesnt follow in the footsteps of Mirror Lakes and ends in closure.

Not only is this course improving in condition every year but they are charging reasonable greens fees vs many other courses who are "price gouging", at least in my opinion, this time of year. I golf almost every day while "snowbirding" all winter and also when I go back up north for the summer.
I would like to personally thank the staff for making my day pleasurable every time I play Cape Royal.

I really like this place. I just wish the snack bar had a little quicker setvice at the turn. I highly recommend calling ahead for a hotdog (or whatever) from the 8th green.

This is by far my favorite public course in SW Florida. The greens roll fast & true and will challenge anyones flat stick ability.
The fairways are in great condition and tee boxes are good as well. I'd like to see some of the Florida courses offer a discount to combat wounded veterans and add a purple heart parking space like some of the Pa businesses do up north.

Almost got 5 stars but a few holes were shortened due to wet conditions from a previous rain event & poor drainage. Course personnel never infomed us of that issue. To make matters worse i requested a replay at 3PM and the counter person said I'd have to pay $50.00 !!!
Really? I paid $53.00 for the initial round.
I play 36 holes very often and hate not giving a course a great review but I think this course needs to review it's replay rate to keep customers like me from not returning.

This course a in better condition than while called Royal Tee. According to one employee there is more improvement projects in the works, including bunkers being upgraded with drains installed.
My only criticism is the tee boxes need attention now.

The tee boxes were terrible, the greens painfully slow as well as the pace of play (due mainly to improper teetime management).
I might play there again if someone were to pay for my round!!!

This is my favorite course in the Ft Myers area. Always in great conditions and the greens were rolling fast & true just the way I like them.

With the rising cost for a round of golf going up more every year in SW Florida El Rio is bargain compared to many courses in the Ft Myers area. Great place to work on your short game and get some tight lie ball striking practice.
Give it a go sometime.

This course is a treat because it offers tee positions for golfers of all levels. The greens are in great condition & are rolling a medium speed and true to what you see.
Their driving range, chipping area & a putting green are great for a pre round warmup.

This is my go to course to work on my short game and also my midrange approach shots.
The greens are rolling fairly true with a few greens being repaired for some minor dry areas that can easily be putted past by simply moving your ball slightly like being in a ground under repair area.with no penalty. (assuming your group is reasonable)

I played as yes with a threesome they paired me with and it was a relaxed & enjoyable round. The course was in great condition and the greens rolled pretty true.
The staff was very helpful and the cart I drove was like new. I highly recommend you give this 27 hole gem a try. We played queen to prince and there is also a 9 hole king course as well.

Yet another fun round of golf although I didn't score well. The course is in great shape and the few extra shots I took throughout the round was no fault of the course.
I can't wait to get back there again.
The 4 star on the "Value for the money" is simply because I think $45.00 is a bit high for a 9 hole replay, especially if you play every day like I do.

I was pleasantly surprised by the condition of the course. The greens were fast but not crazy. The fairways nice and just enough sand to make you choose your clubs carefully.
Friendly staff, excellent practice facilities and realistic group gaps & a range for a fun day.
I can't wait to try it again in Hope's of beating my mediocre 85 round.

I love playing at Shell Point every winter. The course is always in great condition & staff is accommodating pace of play is usually very good albeit an odd occurence of s slow foresome that's normally remedied by the ranger.

This is a great course that has friendly staff, a well groomed course & great greens.
I highly recommend playing there.
