Riverbend Golf Course
Played On 02/25/2015What You Should Expect For The Price
We played the course once last year and decided to try it again this year. Last year, we had to play the front twice, this year we had to play the back twice. We knew going in that the conditions likely hadn't improved much - but we would have to say that the back 9 this year was better than the front 9 last year. Yes, the fairways and greens are in need of a lot of work, but for $12 we enjoyed the course and the pace of play - 2 hours to play 18 holes. We are experienced golfers but would go back for the challenges the conditions created at a price of $12.

We have visited this course occasionally since it was new. The course itself if still in good shape.
However, signs of financial distress are showing.
The pro shop had no merchandise, the golf carts are old and could use some TLC, (i.e. ours had no windshield). There were swarms of bugs on the course and so a windshield would have been nice.
There is no ranger on the course, so play was very slow and a group of 5 (yes 5!) young men behind us were somewhat annoying with their power braking skids on the cart paths to see who could skid sideways closest to the other carts, and playing up on us when we were constantly waiting for a slow group in front of us. Overall,
I would not recommend this course because of the pace of play. This course used to be for golfers who enjoy the game, now it seems to be a place where golf is a secondary part of the experience.
