Great value for the price

I drive from Jax to St. Aug to play Royal. They have the best prices, lot of available tee times, and a very friendly staff. The course is challenging but not over whelming. Highly recommend

Good value

Royal St. Aug is always a value that competes or beats the other local courses. Challenging layout, most of the time in good condition and very friendly staff. I drive from Jax to St. Aug to play, about 40 miles one way, because of the availability for early tee times and for the price.

Great round, but work on the greens please

Played on 5/7. Weather and pace of play were great. Several greens were choppy and did not allow for a true ball roll. I will give them a break as we have not had much rain lately. However, this should not preclude you from watering.

Hidden Gem, but....

Bent Creek is a challenging course. It is a great value for the money. The course is always in good shape and despite all the water around the course it drains fairly well. The staff is AWESOME. Two things to keep in mind: They offer something called foot golf and they keep the holes and flags in, which makes it difficult from the tee box to know where you are hitting. The staff, although very friendly, need to pay more attention on controlling the pace of play. They allow slower golfers to back up those that are played better / faster. Otherwise, make the trip to Bent Creek!

Getting Better

I played on 3/12/16. The staff was awesome. The course is challenging. There were a few issues on about half the greens. Dead grass that made putting more challenging that it should have been. This course also has a "foot golf" option. Although there was not degradation to the course, they leave the flags for the foot golf in the holes. This makes it a bit confusing, especially on blind shots. The course is a bit remote, but it is a good value.

Back on my list

I removed Jullington Creek from my list of courses to play in the area. I removed the course because the staff was terrible and the course was over priced with little to no competitive rates. A friend of mine told me that the course was under new management and was offering specials at Golfnow.com. I found the offer and played the course for the first time in several years. The staff was awesome, the rate was fair and the course was in EXCELLENT shape. It drained well and the greens are in the best shape of any course in the area. The Champions Club is back on my list of courses to play.
