The Country Club of Mount Dora
Played On 05/03/2021Good course, horrible customer service.
Played at 3pm. Was told “we don’t have a 9 hole rate- it’s $30 after 3”. I was also told I could get a rain check as the forecast showed rain coming in. After the 10th hole, I headed back in due to rain. I was then told by the (I use the term loosely) pro that “we don’t give rain checks- you paid for 9 holes and played 9 holes”. I said “your other employee told me I could get a rain check.” He said the guy was mistaken. This is why courses are closing. Don’t waste your time or money here.
Lake Diamond Golf & Country Club
Played On 04/07/2019Great golf, poor customer service
This course is in considerably better shape than the last time I played (18 months ago). Tees and greens were on point, fairways were able to take divots. However, Dale in the pro shop almost made us turn around and go to the Shores CC. Had a terrible attitude and was rude. Made me pay w/a card and couldn’t figure out how to split a payment- acted like it was my fault and refused to ask anyone. Horrible attitude. Owners should get some friendly/competent and professional people at the counter, not just rude older guys.
Mission Inn Resort & Club - El Campeon Course

El Campeon lives up to its top billing. Amazing and challenging layout. Friendly staff. Great conditions. Couldn't ask for a better experience.
Mark Bostick Golf Course at The University of Florida
Played On 05/28/2017Gator Golf!
I drove in from Ocala to play. I have to say, the course rivals most country clubs I've played. Super fast greens that read true. Lush fairways with perfect divots. Highly recommend you play this course!!
Arlington Ridge Golf Club
Played On 05/23/2017Great course
Played on a nice day. The course was in great shape. We played right after they had punched the front 9, but the back was in great shape. Will be down there again soon to play.
Candler Hills Golf Club
Played On 01/09/2017The Best Course in Ocala
I always look forward to playing Candler Hills. The course was in immaculate condition. The 3 things I always look at when reviewing the course are greens (fast and consistent), sand (easy to hit out of and well maintained), and tee boxes (again, well maintained). We saw the ranger 3 times in our round, and he always offered us water and ice. Everyone is friendly here. The range, putting greens, and short game area are among the best I've ever seen- better than most private courses. Thanks again for a great experience!
Tomoka Oaks Golf & Country Club
Played On 01/05/2017This Could Be a Great Course One Day
Sometimes that $10 hot deal really isn't much of a deal. It beats the driving range though! This course is in bad shape, but it's got so much potential. It's got a great layout, but all the greens are burnt out and slow.
Juliette Falls
Played On 12/30/2016Awesome Golf Experience
I always look forward to my round at Juliette Falls. Everything was great about this place. The only downside was that the restaurant wasn't open after my round, but I won't hold that against them. Smooth greens, great fairways, and you can tell they keep this course up year round.
Black Bear Golf Club
Played On 10/31/2016Great Time Daring the Bear
What a great course! Everything was set up nicely. Staff was friendly, course played excellent, and you could tell they really took pride in keeping this course in great shape. 10/10 will play again.
Lake Diamond Golf & Country Club
Played On 12/26/2014Great course, great rate, great time
We had a great time playing Lake Diamond. Course is in good shape.
Ocala National at Golden Hills Country Club
Played On 04/24/2014Great course, but greens need some work
Had a great time at Ocala National. It's a gorgeous place to play golf. We picked up a Hot Deal, but with the way the greens were, I wouldn't pay full price. However, it was a great day and every other aspect of the course was well maintained.
PROS- great layout, well kept, good challenge for a beginner, great staff, drinking water at every hole
CONS- Thursday was super busy w/ladies day, too much sand on the greens
We’re very sorry to hear that you had a poor recent experience with us, however, we can assure you we are trying to create our rate structure in a way that is a win-win for both parties. Our 9 hole rate is $30 + tax from open to close, all day. We're also currently running a special after 3pm for $30 + tax that includes a sleeve of Srixon golf balls as well, which is the rate you received. It is our 9 hole rate, however, we offer our guests the chance to play as many holes as they can, up to 18 holes. Due to weather in the summer time, as you know, many times golfers are not able to get in a full 18 in the afternoon. We had the same structure last summer and our guests loved it since they did not have to worry about rain checks most of the time, essentially playing 18 holes for a 9 hole rate if the weather is favorable. We do offer rain checks after 3pm in two circumstances. First, the shop needs to be still open (we close at 6:30pm) and second, the customer could not finish 9 holes due to inclement weather. At that point, we print out a credit voucher based on the number of holes completed. Upon your check-in, we recall you mentioning that you only had an hour and 15 minutes to play and our staff explained that you’re essentially paying to play 9 holes. We do apologize if there was any misunderstanding with our raincheck policy, but feel that our rates and course conditions reflect one of the best values in the area as the course is in great shape. If you would like to discuss anything further, please contact Attila Pinter, Head Golf Professional, Thur - Mon at the Golf Shop.
