Nice course, Bad Service

Pro:
Well maintained course
Great looking amenities

Cons:
No carts were available until the tee time
Driving range are worn down mats with no tees
No snack cart
Most snacks in the turn shack were out
Snack shack said they "didn't want to refill them"
No Marshal
Waited up to 4 groups deep per hole
Slow pace of play
Shared my feedback with the clubhouse and they didn't care at all
Twilight tee times are a free-for-all and they don't care about the twilight player because you weren't full fare

Overall:
Course is overpriced for the layout which leaves a lot to the imagination. No real memorable holes. Service is really bad. There are better courses on the island.

Aloha,

Thank you for taking your time to leave your review with us about your experience. We are very sorry to read your review and see there were several areas that did not meet your expectations. In regards to the golf carts, we had a very busy day and yes some groups did not receive them until their tee time as they needed to be turned from morning rounds when those golfers finished. In regards to the comment about the staff not caring, we do care about each persons experience. I received a report from my assistant you spoke with about your round and we are working to improve areas that you mentioned.

Consistently Poor Pace of Play

Beautiful course with some of the worst pace of play consistently. Well known for the entitled vacation golfer who doesn't let anyone pass. 5h 20m round in the wind. Greens were very slow with random speeds based on heavy sanding. Lost all momentum waiting behind a 4-some starting on hole 3. Found out they were having a group outing playing stroke play, with 20+ handicappers. Stroke play!... no string, no best drive... Saw this hacker hit 6 balls in the water on 4 from the drop then proceeded to play the rest of the hole. The Marshal was on 4 watching this and was the last time we saw him. We came to 18 and the whole group of 30 in this tournament (Never mentioned to us by the starter/staff) decided to sit by the bunkers on 18 and drunkenly yell as we were finishing. No Marshal present. Just more of the same pace of play neglect I've experienced before. Don't put "under 4 hour round" and print us checkpoint times if you aren't going to enforce them. Also... Irons only range sign? Can't pay 10 bucks more a day to have the range picker grab the deep balls which have to be hit ~300+. Plan for 5+ hours a round. Play if you can hit some odd hours and especially not holiday weekends. Prospector is not a bucket list course with how they currently treat the player experience.

Keep it in the fairway

Troon North Pinnacle is a beautiful and very difficult course. Keep your driver in the bag for most holes and make sure you hit it in the fairway. Don't challenge the course or it will bite you more than the snakes. (we didn't see snakes but you get it). It's about the second shot. Being 100-150 out is ideal. Greens aren't too difficult if you keep it close. The sand was much nicer than other desert courses. I don't think I would pay 200 again but it was a good one and done experience.

Great Course!

Totally worth the money and drive. Difficult if you can't reach out or hit it well off the tee. Perfect condition. No bar or restaurant so you need to bring your own after round activities.

Amazing difficult course

Dove Mountain was everything I wanted from a PGA Pro stop course. Difficult and beautiful. It's rediculously hard from the Blue tees so make sure you don't go back there unless you are at the top of your game.Have a 260+ accurate drive to go over the bunkers and a 200+ club you love. All par 3's are 200+. Par 4's were playing 440-490 (except the 395 one the pros drive). Bring a sand trap game as well because you will for sure hit it in the 50 different ones. The Pro shop staff were friendly and I got on for 68 bucks to play the championship 18. Really wish there was a cart girl. The wrap I had at the turn was awful and the bar closed at 3pm. Golf experiece - 5 stars. Food/Cart girl - 2 stars.
