Glorious weather matched by course in glorious condition, although wind prevented glorious scores

Course generally in good nick but greens have been treated recently and now quite sandy which made them a bit unpredictable. Halfway house bacon sarny made up for that though

Hot deal at 1.45 pm when it gets dark at 4.40 left very little time for our threesome. Fortunately we were able to start early. Course and views great as usual but greens poor today. Rutted and unreliable

Apart from the irritation of a couple of temporary greens while they were being spiked the course was in fine shape on this glorious October day. Shooting my best score probably helped!

Have played this course many times now. Greens were a problem a couple of months ago but now impeccable. Fairways however are not - many bald patches and consequent uneven lies. We played in a gale -40 mph winds which adds to the challenge but still a fantastic course to visit

After incessant rain in the morning our foursome played at 2 on a dry course apart from a couple of puddly bunkers. Hugely enjoyable as usual. Not the most challenging but always interesting holes and the best views in Sussex golf

Probably the main reason to play here is the cost. Nowhere is cheaper but, truth be told, it is not a great course. Some decent holes but can be a bit samey. Greens not in great shape today and overall (eg tee boxes) it’s looking a little shabby

Another visit to this fantastic course. It’s up high and near the sea so winds are to be expected. Unfortunately that brings out the worst in me! But the course is in fantastic shape. Greens true but slick. Rough a tad punishing. But overall a delight as usual.

Our group of three played this course in the middle of one of the hottest days for years and after a two month drought. Yet the course is in very good shape. When damp it can get a bit boggy but when dry it rewards straight hitting and good course management

Played this course many times but despite the 6 weeks of drought I have rarely experienced it in better shape. Greens in perfect condition. Plays easily when the ball runs for miles as it did today so by no means the most challenging. The iconic 18th is worth the trip on its own. New clubhouse a definite improvement.

Fantastic course with amazing views over Brighton and the sea. Testing holes but always gives you a chance and keeps you interested
