The course has become close to unplayable. Tee boxes that are dirt, greens there are beat up to the point where your ball bounces on most putts, and plants of fairways with bare patches.

Love the course and the people but time to give it wide berth until conditions improve.

One of the cheaper rates around but you get what you pay for. This course is in rough shape though the greens are pretty well kept. Hitting off the dirt and incredibly tight lies seems like the norm. The front 9 layout is nice but the back 9 is tight but very short.

Highland Reserve has been my “home” course for the past few years. The layout is fun and the staff - top to bottom - is fantastic. While the course has never been in perfect condition, it’s recently become much worse. I’ve played hundreds of rounds here over the past several years and I’ve never seen the course in worse shape.

The tee boxes are beat up and several of the greens are essentially gone. Worse, though, is the condition between tee and green. You can keep it in the fairway and still play a lot of shots from dirt. Off the fairway, it’s almost uniformly dirt, loose sand and weeds. Over the past few months, conditions have consistently become worse as the weeks progress.

At this point, the course is pretty close to unplayable. It’s a real shame because it is a fun layout and the staff is so great. They, and we, deserve better than what HR is becoming. I hope they can turn it around as HR would be a real loss for golf in this area but, for now, other options are probably a better bet.

Living in ChampionsGate, I’ve driven by the Reunion courses so many times wishing for an opportunity to play. When I saw they were offering a few tee times on GN, I snapped one up and am I glad that I did. The Palmer course is challenging but fair. It’s in excellent condition and the greens roll nicely. The staff is very helpful, the layout of the course is beautiful and the round was near perfect.

My only hesitation in creating this review is that I don’t want to increase competition for the limited times they offer BUT fair is fair and they deserve the excellent review. I really hope they continue to offer locals an occasional chance to play.

The last time I played this course, I walked off after 3 holes because the conditions were unplayable. 15 months later, this terrific, challenging layout is matched with pristine conditions. This a course that makes you think about where you want to leave your misses, where you want to hit your approach shot from all without unduly punishing the average player.

A couple of things to note. The range and practice putting green are not open yet so you stand on the first tee and hope for the best. Clubhouse said they would be open soon. Also, it’s basically a 17 hole course right now. The 9th hole is still being renovated so you play to a flag in the middle of the fairway. Both of these issues are temporary and won’t keep me away from this great course.

So glad to see this course back to what it should be!

I almost hate to give this course the review it deserve as I don’t want more crowds to contend with. It is a terrific course that is superbly maintained. The International gets all the attention and draws a lot of the traffic but the National is maintained just as well and is a more fun course in many respects.

Love this course.

CG country club isn’t a bad course but it isn’t really anything special. There are definitely many better options for your money in the area. The course is in good shape and well maintained but that is about the only positive of this place.

Be prepared to play several holes through a construction zone. If construction noise is good for your game, this is the course for you. Otherwise, be aware that the front nine has home construction active on several holes.

Overall, the course doesn’t offer many interesting holes. There are a handful that are interesting but most are pretty forgettable.

Finally, you are not allowed to use the wide open, completely empty range after your round to work out any issues. The vibe of the place is snobby country club without having the facility or history to have anything to be snobby about.

There are so many better options for your money than CGCC at this point. Hard pass - find another option.

I play HR almost every week for a reason. The course layout is challenging without being impossible and the staff is uniformly excellent. From the pros to Bill the starter, you won’t find a nicer or more professional group of people running a golf course. I highly recommend giving this course a try.
