Hemet Golf Club
Played On 09/04/2023Decent value nice layout
How much golf course is a great layout, and a great value. The facilities are modest, and the course conditions are fair. Pace of play can be rather slow. At the end of the day, what will bring you here is value and decent golf.
Strawberry Farms Golf Club
Played On 04/16/2019Awesome layout and facilities
If it weren't for the short cropped southern California fairways I'd give it a 5 star rating all around. But there is so little height to the grass in the fairways that you're hitting off real tight lies all the time. Beyond that, the greens are great. Layout is fun and challenging, but fair. The surrounding hills and lack of housing developments is great. Being in OC it is not cheap.
Legends Golf Club
Played On 06/03/2018Good track, some dry fairways, dead bunkers.
The course is a fairly fine design. But like many Southern California courses, over the last few years, it has paid the price of the drought. Fairways are green, with cropped short rough: a mix of grass and cabbage. If you miss the greens to the right or left you're going to end up in dirt which makes for an impossible up and down. Bunkers or non-sanded, rather they're just dirt. Overall though for Southern California it is a nice layout; good golf at a fair price.
Redhawk Golf Club
Played On 07/22/2017Overall decent course, but horrible management
I have played Redhawk for over 10 years. I have seen them go through various groups of management. The most recent group who owns them, seems to be the worst by far. Two factors stand out about Redhawk now, versus years ago. One, course conditions have deteriorated quite a bit. Two, the place of play at Redhawk is atrocious. 5.5 hour rounds are almost the norm here anymore. Our last t time there was 11:16AM. We finished after 5:00PM! This is not the first time either. During the round we called the clubhouse letting them know of the pace. Not one ranger showed up, nothing was done to move people faster. As for course conditions, the greens are dicey at best, the rough is not groomed, and fariways are so so. Being an resident of Temecula I have to give them a low rating, but the really have to work on their customer service, and getting people to adhere to time limits.
CrossCreek Golf Club
Played On 07/08/2017beautiful course and well managed
The course offers ample elevation changes, tough greens, and overall fair conditions. For the most part pace of play is acceptable. The don't pack players close together here as some other area courses do. Be prepared to lose some balls however, this track is unforgiving.
The Golf Club at Rancho California
Played On 07/01/2017Nice layout, but course conditions have gone downhill
This is an enjoyable track offering a variety of holes, and a fairly decent pace of play. Over the past couple of years however, course conditions have deteriorated significantly. You really have to play winter rules here. Fairways have large dead patches, absolutely no seeding has been done, and overall conditions are a fraction of what they used to be. This course used to be maintained meticulously. Now, it's pretty run down. Still work it if you can get a deal. Else it can be overpriced.
Legends Golf Club
Played On 06/24/2017Nice layout and fair conditions
This course has been brought back from dead by its current owners. It's a nice and fair layout. Each year conditions are slightly better, after previous management killed the place. Enjoyable golf at a decent pace.
Seven Hills Golf Club
Played On 06/17/2017good course conditions, parkland style course
This is a fairly easy parkland style course. The course is always in decent condition. Pace of play can be pretty nice and fast. For the price you really can't go wrong.
Pukalani Country Club
Played On 06/12/2017Decent course overall
This is a decent and inexpensive course in maui. If you're looking for cheap but OK golf, you can't go wrong here. Greens were super slow. Summertime watch out for the flying insects. We played through a swarm of them for 18 holes. That was the worst part of our round.
Hemet Golf Club
Played On 02/25/2017decent and cheap
I've played here quite a few times, only because it's cheap. The course is not in great shape. Fairways lack grass and there are lots of brown patches. Greens however, are generally decent. All around, It's a decent layout worth no more than $25 to play.
The Links at Summerly
Played On 12/21/2014Horrible and run down course
I hate to leave such a negative review for a local business. But out of fairness to players I have to. I've played this course numerous times over the years. The links like design has its flaws, but that is not the reason for my posting. We played this course 2 weeks ago, and the fairways were barren. There was bare patches of mud where fairways should be. It seems like they didn't even bother to seed this season. Makes me wonder if they will fold or if the owners are planning selling it. At its current condition I wouldn't play this course even if it were free.
Windermere Country Club
Played On 10/10/2012great price and nice course
I understand a few years ago they went through a renovation. I played in October, and conditions were great. decent fairways, good greens. Course has a nice mix of holes. Wind blows pretty solid, so from tips the 6600 yards played much longer on certain holes. Premium placed on accuracy and shotmaking. Greens were a bit slow, but still clean and well maintained. Staff was super friendly. A bit hidden out there and GPS connection wasn't greatest, but got there with no problem. Would definitely recommend,
