Grantwood Golf Course
Played On 07/14/2020Doing it right
Staff was friendly, which wasn’t always the case in the past. Only played 9 and they put us off back 9, also not done in the past. Walked in around 1 1/2 hours, pretty casual pace. I am a fan of any course that puts pace of play as a priority, and some nice holes. Like par 3 12th, severe green so stay below cup.
Providence Golf Club
Played On 01/10/2020Little better than average for Florida golf
I booked this course because it looked like the tee sheet was open and I am always looking for a 3-3/12 hour round. It was a slower but probably around 4. The back 9 was a significantly nicer and fun 9. If you have sole good friends to enjoy the round with; it will get the job done. I liked the tee shot on 17 as well as great birds, alligators, etc.
Stonecreek Golf Club
Played On 10/21/2019Last minute decision
On vacation in Scottsdale area, woke up early with baby so took her to the course. Been here several times with guys on high priced golf trips to the “best courses”. Personally, I had a negative experience at several of the 300$/round courses and Stonecreek was sufficient for my needs. The price and people were a lot friendlier, although course layout was a little bland. Bottom line, sometimes less is more and I enjoyed my round. Greens were running decent, if players fixed ball marks it would help.
Grantwood Golf Course
Played On 06/16/2019Good course
First tee time off around 630, so pace of play not an issue. Lots of rain last month, course was lush but obviously some bunkers were washed out and cart path only. I played from back tees, and other guys played white. Love what they did, so many of the white tees were 25-75 yards closer than they used to be which made it much more fun and quick for them. Great idea.
Palmetto-Pine Country Club
Played On 04/02/2019Perfect, for my needs.
Tee time early in the morning around 730 and finished the round at 945. For me, pace of play is among the most important criteria, and this was perfect. I’m sure the pace of play slows as the day progresses.
The course layout is nice for travel golf, greens were pretty smooth and some variety. The condition was decent, but I realIze a lush green course throughout is cost prohibitive as well as harmful to environement. Speaking of costs, I think it cost around 70$ for the round, probably a little high but no big deal.
Shoutout to Max and his staff at the club. Made me feel like a member and that is the reason for four stars, because it is nothing special or sexy but being able to be done quick and have some good holes is all one can ask for.
The Currituck Club
Played On 08/08/2018When the only option is your best option.
Later Currituck on vacation while on corolla in obx. Nice to have a course only a few minutes away. A couple good golf holes, a lot of driver gap wedge holes though. Condition was ok, but nothing to write home to mom about on any front. Avid golfer, so no complaints but rather indifferent to the experience.
Deer Ridge Golf Club
Played On 07/31/2015Who would have known?
Who would have known that a great golf course was hidden behind the Comfort Inn off exit 165 (71 South). The steep driveway to the clubhouse ends with great views off the deck of a course in Mid Ohio with great change of elevations. For the price, a must play.
A fair and fun test of golf.
Lakewood Golf Club
Played On 12/04/2014Once Upon A Golf Course....
We came from out of town to play New Orleans courses. This was the first course we played (TPC Louisana/English Turn), and a good starter.
Pros: Fast Greens & Pace of Play. The greens were really fast, and that was the best part of the course. Not sure where the "kitchen" was, but the food was tasty as well.
Cons: No hole definition, from the first tee it was hard to distinguish the layout. No clubhouse. No watering grass.
A course that at one time was played by the best golfers in the world is broke, and that's a shame. We paid around $50 per round, and that is about as much as would seem fair.
Thanks for the 4-stars and choosing to play Palmetto-Pine Country Club! We truly appreciate your feedback on our course & staff, and we're glad to hear we could provide you with a valuable golf experience. Come back soon! #PalmettoPineCC
