We haven’t played here in a year. It was so bad then, and worse now. I thought that since Pope Golf took over management that it would improve. We wanted to give it a try, thinking that it can’t possibly be as bad as the last time. Sadly, we were wrong. It has the potential to be a great track. Sadly, we won’t return anytime soon.

We played in 3.25 hours in season. Not bad, huh? Lightning fast greens that track pure, fairways like carpet, reasonable rough and traps. Only negative is the tees. We played the whites and they were pretty rough. Other than that, a very nice and challenging course.

I had been wanting to play here for years. I got my opportunity today and boy was it worth it! From the moment we went to the bag drop to checking in, to the starter, it was a most pleasant experience. The course layout was spectacular. The conditions were fine. And the greens…better spend some time at the practice green before teeing off. Can’t wait to return!

This is our “home” course. The conditions are far superior to another Pope managed course north of here. The staff couldn’t be nicer. We finished in 3 hours flat. What’s not to like?

Our tee time was 1:15. We finally got off at 1:30. Not too bad. We finished the front 9 at 4:25. Seriously, almost 3 hours to play 9 holes? We left after nine and decided to wait till season is over before returning.

I play this course at least 3 times a month. The condition is very good. The only complaint I have is some of the cart paths are in bad shape. By far, the best value course in the area.

Great golf course. Excellent facilities, good course condition, greens run true, exceptional staff. No finer public access course in the area.

After a class 4 hurricane, I would have expected the course to be closed for awhile. I played 9 days after the storm. The condition was amazing! Dry, greens in great shape, fairways superb. Best bang for the buck in Sarasota.

Bent Tree is our “home” course. The last time we were here, it was obvious some money was being put into the course. The fairways, rough and greens were outstanding. It would have gotten 5 stars, but a lot of the cart paths were awful. We’ll worth the very reasonable green fees.

We play all the public courses within 20 miles of our home. Without exception, this is the best conditioned course that we play. The greens were a little slow, but in beautiful shape. Being a muni explains the unbelievable price.

Season is finally over! The last time we played here, it took 5 3/4 hours. That was in February. This time we did it in 3 hours. The course in in great shape. As usual, the staff is very nice. It’s good to have our course back.

5+ hours for a round of golf is not acceptable, even in season. It’s a shame, because the course is in superb shape. I guess I won’t be able to play until the birds have gone back home.

The last time I played this course, I said that they should pay me to play it. Now I see how quickly a course can be turned around. While still a work in progress, it is in better condition than many tracks around here. I can’t wait to see what it will look like in 6 months. Give it a try!

2 years ago I said they should have paid me to play there. Since Pope has taken over management, the improvements are evident. It’s not quite there yet, but the upgrades are great. Can’t wait to play there again.

Haven’t played here in over a year. I don’t remember it being this bad. Crab grass, weeds, some tees in poor shape, bare spots on the greens, etc. The layout is good. The employees are top notch. They are fixing some tee boxes. I’ll wait another year and see how the improvements are coming.

We play here several times a month. It’s an interesting course with several elevation changes, a rarity in Florida. For a muni, it’s good. And the price can’t be beat.

We wanted to do something special on our last day of vacation. We chose The Ledges because it looked outstanding on their website. Well, looks can be deceiving. The facilities are nice, the practice area is good, the staff is very friendly, the layout is outstanding. The course conditions were horrible. Bare patches all over the fairways and greens. The grass that was there was good, there just wasn’t enough of it. Very disappointed with the course.

Considering the drought then the flash flooding, conditions were good. Can’t beat the price. We play here at least 3 times a month. We will keep coming back.
