The Champions Club at Summerfield
Played On 04/21/2018Back Again!
I came back again on the 21st and although it was a bit cloudy, the course played well with wind at 5 to gusts of 15. The greens are quick but true. I have difficulty in reading the grain as it affects ball movement considerably. With that in mind I did nail a couple 20 footers and it made my day. The course isn't long but trouble left and right on most holes means hit the fairway and use some distance control on approaches. This is a great value and mu round too 3 hours and 45 minutes as a threesome.

When you pull in we met Mike on the carts and bags. He greeted us and took care of the equipment and drove the cart to the starters shack. After settling up we met the starter (Bill?) another friendly character who got us out 5 minutes ahead of the scheduled time. The course is a Fazio design, so you had better hit fairways and we were lucky that we did. The greens are probably the best feature of this challenging course, they hold, roll quick and true. After the round we went into the restaurant where we met Darla who was friendly efficient and had some help for us with the menu. The course the staff and the facilities were excellent. We will return and more than once.
