Played On 05/01/2022Nice Course, Bad conditions
First time playing this course for me. The golf course was in decent condition for this time of year but was very wet/soggy due to all the rain in April. Course was cart path only and the ground was pretty squishy everywhere other than the greens. Greens were in decent shape. Sand traps were pretty bare or were mini-ponds (due to heavy rain the previous evening). Overall the course is pretty short if not playing from the Blacks. Started the round from the Silver/White tees but for the first 6 or 7 holes it was basically Driver/Wedge/Putter so switched to Black tees. Pace was ok -- bit slow but that was understandable given the cart path only conditions. Will definitely play again should be a better experience once the weather improves.

Played On 09/11/2021Good round
Course was in very good condition. Pace was a bit slow and no marshals on course but can’t expect less than 4.5 hours on a Saturday. Only saw beverage cart once entire round and halfway house was out of several items.
Overall good experience and would definitely play again
River Bend Golf Course
Played On 08/09/2020Way to long to play 9
3+ hours to play 9 holes is ridiculous. Part of the problem is that tee times are 8 minutes apart so by 9-9:30 the course is totally backed up. 25 minute delay to tee off and then 2.5 - 3 hours to play.
I’d only recommend playing here very early morning on weekends or during the early part of the day mon-thurs.
The Senator Course at Shula's Golf Club
Played On 03/31/2019Decent course oberall
Course was in pretty good shape. Bit of delay starting but pace was decent. Only complaints - 1- should have water every few holes as only one beverage cart for entire course.; 2- I don’t understand why people can’t repair their ball marks on the greens or rake the traps after hitting out of a bunker. Very frustrating to hit out of a footprint hole in a bunker...
rpwadhwa,
Thank you for your review of Shula's Golf Club. We are glad that you found the course in good shape. We provide drinking water on holes 4, 8, clubhouse, 10, 12 and 16. Our staff continues to remind all players to rake bunkers. We wish that all golfers complied. We hope to see you again very soon.
Sincerely,
Shula's Golf Club

Played On 03/26/2019Great course nice people
First time playing this course. Weather was perfect and overall course in great shape. A few of the bunkers could have used a bit more sand but still a 5 star worthy experience.
Staff was very friendly. Spent a lot of time talking to Ranger Walter - very interesting life story!
Will definitely play again!

Played On 04/28/2018Course is potentially very nice
This was the first time playing the course. The layout is very nice and for the average golfer (15-18 handicap) the whites are challenging enough.
The course has major damage from rain/flooding and this significantly detracted from the overall experience. Even shots that landed in the middle of the fairway were challenging due to either standing pools of water or lack of grass from water damage. If the course was in better shape I would rate it one of the better courses in the Nashville area I have ever played.
The reason for the low score for off course amenities was a pretty sparse pro-shop and no food/beverage cart. The only food other than candy bars available were pre-packaged deli sandwiches and those were frozen.
I think this course will be really nice if they can recover from the water damage and once the food cart driver is home on summer break. I would consider playing it again if I could get a look at the condition of the course prior to booking a tee time.

Played On 04/27/2018Nice course but in poor condition
I have played this course a few times in the last 3-4 years and up until this last round it has been one of my favorite courses in the general midwest area. The staff is very friendly and the amenities in the pro-shop, range, restaurant/bar, etc are very nice.
The course itself is in very poor condition due to a harsh winter and heavy rain/floods. There was very little good grass to hit from on many holes -- even in the middle of the fairway and while the greens were generally in very good shape, several were "in repair".
The day I played was cart path only and if I had known that ahead of time I probably would not have played.
I know the course will recover and given the high level of service and friendliness of the staff I expect it will continue to be a favorite/preferred course to play in the Nashville area. I will definitely look to play there again when back in the area.
Good morning,
Thanks again for your review. Our team would like to connect with you and discuss your experience a bit further. Can you please email your contact information
and best time to reach you to gaylordspringsgolf@gmail.com?
Thank you,
Thank you for taking the time to offer this feedback and to compliment our staff. We are very proud of our amenities and service levels.
You are correct in that most courses in our area are taking longer than normal to bounce back after a long, wet winter. This has forced us to remain on cart paths. Due to this we extended our off season rates an additional month.
We are excited for the good weather we have experienced lately and are confident the course will recover very soon.
We look forward to your return trip to Nashville and to Gaylord Springs!
Bolingbrook Golf Club
Played On 04/22/2018great course -- windy day
Given the challenging weather and amount of rain over the last few months the course was in very good shape. Bunkers were a little rough but pretty much in line with early spring expectations. Playing off Blues this early in the season was probably not a good decision based on wind conditions and combined skill level of our group but overall a good experience.
The only complaint I had was with pace of play. we teed off at 2:10 and by the 3rd hole we were waiting anywhere from 5-10 minutes -- especially on the tee box. didn't finish the round until after 7 PM. Our cart died on the 17th hole and we had to walk the last hole which added a little time but we didn't tee off 18 until almost 6:50.
The slow pace was unusual based on the last few times I played this course and can probably be attributed to the windy conditions but would have been helpful to see marshals out on the course keeping everyone closer to expected pace.
Looking forward to getting out there again in a few weeks when the weather stabilizes.
Hello, thank you for reviewing the course. We apologize for the delay of play during your round. Please know that this is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. With an uncharacteristically full day, we work hard to accommodate everyone who visits our course and allow our guest the chance to complete their rounds. With that in mind, we are working to best control pace and allow everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve and will use your comments as guidance in doing so. Thank you for playing River Bend Golf Course. We hope to see you again soon.
