Whilst I accept that this is a public facility and the course was in reasonable condition I would never recommend this place and would never go back - even if I wasn’t charged.

The course is old fashioned with a large amount of small crowned greens . The layout is confusing , the staff unwelcoming and the pace of play a total disaster , with no ranger to be seen - over 4hours to play 15 holes, by which time we had had enough and gave up.

My wife and I are good golfers and we’re put into a game with 2 hackers who took 3 air shots and 4 mulligans before they reached the ladies tee on the first. It took 15 minutes for them to get up to our drives and there was no starter or ranger to talk to. We debated whether to walk-in and ask for a refund but we didn’t want to risk loosing our place on the course and there was no one to ask and the game behind had driven and were waiting . We decided to leave our playing companions and carried on, at their suggestion without them. We then spent 4 honours waiting on every shot. It was AWFUL

Have played this course, the West, several times. The condition for a public facility is top class. Staff always helpful and friendly and the only criticism is that rangers should try and speed up the pace of play. If you are a good golfer you will spend a lot of time waiting!!

Course was good but the condition not quite as good as in previous years.

We confronted a huge 45 minute storm which flooded the course just after we made the turn. The Club were offering rain credits to everyone but as we had booked a “hot deal” with Golf Now we were told that we would have to contact them direct.

We did so and I was not happy with being told that the course never shut and that therefore we were not entitled to any refund although we were offered some fairly useless coupons!

Not what we expected from an organisation that we have, until now, held in high regard. Frankly Noah and his ark would have struggled to play in such conditions.

On its website this place looks very nice -the truth is that its a very dated motel/resort with a golf course - some of which is iin good order but some in a very poor state.

Considering that this is a public course and has had a real battering from wet weather and hurricanes the entire course was in amazing condition. We have played here 2-4 times a year for the last 5yeaes and this was the best we have ever seen it Great fairways, good tees and bunkers and more than acceptable greens.

My wife and I played here 5 times on our recent trip to Florida. The reason is that both course are in excellent condition for what are effective public courses and both offer a good test. Some of the tee boxes are a little scruffy but considering the amount of play they get and the price charged one really cannot complain.

We prefer the West course as it is more interesting and a little shorter. The East is tougher and requires much longer approach shots.

All in all Jacaaranda and Plantation Preserve are the best two courses in the area available to the public

Was seriously underwhelmed by the poor condition of this course. It was wet, muddy and the fairways space on grass.

By comparison to its neighbour Plantation Preserve it is seriously lacking and amazingly more expensive.

Course was in good order and staff very pleasant. It's not the best value in town but still good value

Had read a lot about this place and was expecting more. The layout is old fashioned and the general feel, despite the grand hotel, is run down. Greens were good but tees were ordinary and the cart paths and general feel of the place was totally uninspiring.

I had read various criticisms of the Doral set up on your site. Most of these were a little harsh bearing in mind that the place is having millions spent on it and there are bound to be some issues. The course was in good order considering the recent rain and the greens were excellent. The welcome was pleasant but unless I am mistaken this is no relation to the Gold course I played 30 years ago - it's a fairly mundane course with a few decent holes and the best thing about it was the condition. The pace of play on the back 9 was awful and there were no rangers chasing people along

I played this course with my wife and had a delightful caddy . He helped get us through slow groups and added to the experience. The course is a good layout and has some great views BUT the greens were awful, the bunkers need attention and some of the tees were in serious need of a mower.. Had I been paying the full rate I would have been seriously upset

I. Enjoyed this course as did my wife. It was in good condition Our only concerns were the quality of the food in the. Clubhouse, having to pay $10 for a small basket of practice balls and the fact that we had to wait almost 20 minutes after our allotted tee time and that it took well over 4 hours to get round!

As a 6 handicapper from the UK I am used to playing a lot quicker
