Few good lies in fairways. Mostly sparce grass with some areas close by to play from for those who are not purist about the game. Greens irratic with spare spots along with uncut grassy areas. Tee blocks also space. In their favour management is taking proactive steps for improvement after taking over from trul bad management. Still quite playable and can be enjoyed if one is not overly serious about their game at whatever level
We enjoyed our round overall.

Electric carts a plus. As are the pleasant and helpful staff. Not a particularly long course for lower handicappers, with tips just over 6,000 and whites at mid 5s. But shots must still be made. Greens well cared for but still not consistent. Dry conditions made for many tight lies, but still playable. Traps need work but still playable. Overall, an enjoyable experience at a good price.

A Country Club setting in a well developed upscale rural subdivision. Always look forward to playing Deer Island several times during our stay in Florida. Staff always pleasant. Course generally well maintained. Mostly a very forgiving layout for even the most errant hitters. Many water hazards, but mostly out of play but not always. Traps need work, but are playable. At this price, still very good value.

Last we played was about 4 years ago. Rather a disappointment. Appeared to have been allowed to deteriorate although clearly the course had seen much better days. A tremendous GolfNow deal enticed us back, which became a most pleasurable experience. Improvements to the course and facilities were clearly evident Staff were first rate. Will continue to watch for pricing opportunities that will encourage our return The long drive from Davenport to get to the course was well worth it.

About what one might expect from an older facility. Motorized carts, dryness, wide open fairways favoring those that spray. Nonetheless, well maintained where it mattered. On the greens, tees and most fairway hitting areas. Staff very personable, and helpful.

Except for badly diseased greens that consistently made putting a particular challenge, the round was most satisfying. Efforts to remediate the greens appear to be ongoing but nonetheless we enjoyed the round at the price paid.

Well appointed clubhouse and pro shop with reasonably priced merchandise. Staff were first rate. Attentive, polite and helpful. Tee'd off on time, but quickly ran up against slow play that seemed to be caused several groups ahead. No marshall on course so ended up with a full 5 hour round.
Nonetheless, the golf was very enjoyable having been joined by a very good golfer on visit from Colorado.
Fairways very dry with many tight lies, but still easily playable. Greens in very good condition running smooth and fast. But not perfect.
Wide open fairways with greens and landing areas well guarded by bunkers that need much attention. Sand in most bunkers does not play well.
All in all though, worth playing if a good price can be found. Not at the rack rates.

Early morning tee time. Not busy at that time so felt like our own private course although a twosome did quickly pass through. Finished in well under 4 hours. Facilities kept very clean, and well organised. Both staff we encountered could not have been more engaging and informative. Tees, fairways and greens in decent shape, with signs of seasonal sparseness. Nothing worth grousing about particularly considering the price. All in all course management is to be commended.

Facilities somewhat dated and showing evidence of their age, but nicely maintained. The chap checking us in could not have been more pleasant and helpful. Course is in good condition, with tee boxes and fairways suitably over seeded. Fairways very generous, perfect for the occasional and higher handicap player while the greens are suitably protected against lower handicappers playing from longer tee boxes. Greens ran reasonably smoothly and consistently, but could not be considered in perfect condition by any measure. All in all we enjoyed our experience and will seek to return in due course.

From bag drop to reception to the starter, staff were first rate. Wash room facilities were pleasantly improved, providing a private club ambiance. Fresh and clean. New electric carts a real treat. The biggest improvement was elimination of a large number of irritating sand traps which seem to have been intended to attract low handicappers. The fact is the course is played mostly by retirees and weekenders. The longer tee boxes and greens well guarded by water and sand is enough to challenge most. Over seeding and an abundance of recent rain made fairways and greens a joy to play. Well done management with all of the improvements.

Well guarded greens provide the challenge as against most generous fairways. Greens were being top dressed but still ran well. Fairways allowed for mostly solid hits, although there were the concessional tight lies. Electric carts were a treat. Staff most pleasant. All in all, an enjoyable round of golf.

This course is perfect for the high handicapper, or the lower to mid handicapper wishing to do some work on longer or middle irons. Fairways are very playable with few, if any tight lies. The greens are particularly challenging. While not cut to table top length they are kept at a decent length. Depending upon the shot they will grab nicely. There are a couple of quirky holes but both still challenge the shotmaker to get it right. All in all, if you can get a good deal price wise, well worth playing. The course offers reasonably priced seasonal memberships. Well maintained fairways and rough. The owner knows his business.

Unquestionably this facility has it's better days behind it. Deferred maintenance is evident, but not where it matters most, perhaps other than the sand traps. Tee boxes, while certainly not pristine had good grass cover and generally in good condition. Fairways had some tight lies but had good grass cover where it counted. Greens ran well, even though had not been recently cut. Electric cart in good condition. Staff could not be more accommodating and pleasant. All in all an enjoyable experience. Recommend without hesitation.

I have been golfing at Warkworth for the past five years and more in the last two years as have found the course to be in very good condition and good pricing. I also enjoy the staff who are friendly and accommodating.

My only concern involves league players who last year would not let us proceed with our game as I was told leagues take precedence. They advised us to go forward on the back nine until we found an opening which we were not able to do, so received a rain check in stead. I talked to the owner and he said he did not support this practice, but this happened again earlier this week. This time I was not willing to give up my spot and again I checked with the owner who again supported our right to keep our tee time slot.

Thank you to the owner for respecting our rights even though we are not members. Would be helpful to have this cleared up.

This golf community course shows pride of ownership. Well maintained and the recent heavy rains improved playing conditions from the dryness we often experienced previously. No rough to speak of, so generous hitting areas. Greens putted well with a good mixture of elevations and undulations. Sand traps very playable. All in all will be an enjoyable experience for golfers of most levels. Will not be overly challenging for low handicappers.

Reasonably well maintained course conditions. Generous fairways, with well guarded greens by sand and water. Greens were very slow, with subtle undulations. A very good test of golf, but fair. We very much enjoyed our day. Clearly being run on a shoe string, although conditions still allow for a satisfying round.

Tee boxes, fairways and greens in good condition. Pretty well left to own devices. No starter or rangers but didn't really matter. Would come again. Got a good green fee rate through Golf Now.

In generally good condition. Decent layout. Otherwise any number of better courses in the area at same price point.
