First time playing course. I liked it. It was pretty open . Greens in decent shape. My group found it he greens tough to read on a few holes. No really long par 3’s. All in all a decent course. I can’t see anyone being disappointed in this course. There were 2 Marshall’s patrolling to keep the pace moving which is always appreciated. Finished round in under 4 hours on a Sunday morning. Has a driving range, putting green and a chipping green.

Pretty basic muni course. It’s in great shape though. I’d highly recommend if you’re looking to save a few bucks this time of year. Staff was very nice. Was a cart girl going around to keep you “hydrated.” All in all they do a really nice job and I’ll be back.

Can’t go wrong here. Course in great shape, staff is great. You won’t find a course as nice for this price. I highly recommend.

Course in great shape. Fun to play. Lots of elevation change. Got a great deal on Golfnow so it was well worth it. Looking forward to getting back.

Its a decent course for a muni. The greens rolled true but a little slow. The layout is "ho-hum" with no sidehill lies. This leads to a pretty benign test of golf. The par 3's are challenging but not long. Nice course but not one you would go out of your way to play.

Easily on of the best public courses in NE Ohio. I played Shale Creek for the 2nd time in 2 years and it was every bit as good as the 1st time. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The starter gave me a few tips about some of the holes that came in handy. Range balls were complimentary---nice touch! And then there's the course...I love it. Its challenging but also fair. 5 sets of tees to choose from so even a high handicapper would find playing at Shale enjoyable. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were all immaculate. Greens rolled true and they were quick. The regular greens fees are a little steep but you get what you pay for. I got a great deal on GolfNow via a "Hot Deal." My partner had never played Shale before and he agreed that this was easily one of the best courses in the Cleveland area. Go see for yourself, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Played Punderson for the second time this year. One thing that stands out is the greens. Some of the best greens around. (There was one hole where there was disease/damage in middle of green though.) Another is that the course is a little long. Its in pretty good shape but like other reviews stated there were lots and lots of grass clippings pretty much everywhere. The rough was thick so finding errant shots can be a tough task. There are some mature trees lining the fairways on the front but it isn't overly thick. The back nine plays a lot easier. Hole 8 is one tht you might want to keep the driver in the bag. Two of the par 3's were over 200 yards. The bunkers were well taken care of and groomed. I got a great Hot Deal on Golfnow.com. I recommend playing here unless you're a high handicapper. Its not an easy course to play. But those greens....cant say enough about how well they roll.

I played Grantwood for the first time and came away VERY impressed. I especially liked the layout/design. It made the round interesting and fun. Course conditions were great. The greens were in great shape. There were rangers out and about to keep play moving along. (Finished in 3.5 hours) There is a driving range, short game area and a putting green so if you want to practice it's a perfect place for it. (Range balls were a little pricey...small bucket is $5.00. How about if you just want to hit a few before the round?) All in all I came away very impressed with Grantwood and I can't wait to get back.

I played Highland (Red) on a Saturday morning. Its a muni course owned by the City of Cleveland. The course is surprisingly hilly eventhough its located in the city. The greens were just ok. Some greens had bare spots and there were tons of divot marks that went un repaired. I had never played the course before so I wanted to give it a try. It wasn't horrible but lets just say that I doubt I would play the course again.

....And you see Panther Run on the list. You're not sure if its going to be worth it because its a little bit of a drive. Trust me when I tell you this...IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY. Yes it is a few miles out there but its pretty much a straight shot from I-75. Staff very friendly. Practice area and range are top shelf. The course is wide open so if you're coming from up north and haven't touched your clubs in a few months... this is a perfect course for you. Elevated tees on most holes, challenging undulated greens. 5 tees to choose from. I played the course twice and its now one of my favorites in the Naples area.

This is a course that you really can't say anything bad about. The greens are in good shape, the course is pretty well designed and the price is right. Lots of elevation changes. It's not pristine like a country club but that's not what they're trying to be. That's not to say it's not taken care of, it is. I recommend this course.

Played Manakiki on 10/11/14. The course was in as good a shape as ever. The fairways were perfect and the greens rolled perfectly. If you're visiting in the Cleveland area, this Donald Ross course is a "must play."

Played Shale Creek on a Saturday afternoon. Check in went smooth. You don't have to pay for range balls. (Nice!# The course was fantastic. I loved the layout. Greens were fast and rolled true. Lots of elevation changes and sidehill lies. Bunkers were mostly immaculate looking. (I was fortunate to avoid them.) Its a little bit of a hike being that its all the way in Medina. It was worth the drive and I cant wait to get back. The green fee is a little steep but you get what you pay for. One thing that was disappointing was the little snack bar they have at the turn was just closing for the day at 4:00! C'mon man. We were hungry and wanted to get food.

The course was in great shape. Greens in pretty good shape...just a few divot marks from the lazyass golfers. There are a few tough holes. Beginners might want to look elsewhere. Pace of play was always an issue when I played here in the past and it was this time as well. It wasn't busy and still took over 4 hours to play. If you haven't played here yet...you should try CL. I doubt you'll be disappointed. Hints: Put driver away on #3. You don't need it. Its narrow with woods on both sides. Same with #7. Its a short hole with an uphill approach shot. Just tee off with an iron or 5 wood and you'll have 120-140 left.

I have played Madison CC in the past but not this year. (2014) The course is in fantastic shape. In the past it was average. Its not easy by any stretch but even a high handicapper will enjoy the round. The greens were rolling nice and true. I highly recommend playing at Madison. All the bunkers were raked and maintained. Rough was not too severe.

Course in great shape. Nice mix of holes. Always enjoy my round at PH.

I played Sweetbriar (Legacy) for the first time and came away very impressed. This is easily one of the nicer courses in the Cleveland area. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in pristine condition. The rough was thick and high and will give high handicap players a lot of trouble. Lots of trees lining the fairways and water comes in to play on many of the holes. Bunkers were all raked nicely. The only thing that some people may mind is that the course winds through houses on just about every hole.
