Stonebridge Golf Links & Country Club
Played On 05/25/2019Great course - you need to think
Interesting combination of easy/short and long/difficult holes. Par 3 holes are generally mostly long and challenging. Greens and fairways in great condition, tee boxes a bit beaten up. Some short par 4s ask for going for green from tee box and try an eagle. Houses around make it feel a bit like in Houston area, it also makes fairways quite narrow. Overall the course is tight so one has to be careful and look around. I would also not recommend this course to beginners. You need to be precise and know what club to play. Overall one of the best courses for the price on Long Island.
Sienna Plantation Golf Club
Played On 12/24/2018Nice course in nice neighbourhood.Greens and bunkers in great condition. Fairways and tee boxes in good condition despite winter season. Good to use a red/pink ball color, because grass is in yellow-ish winter coloring.
Legendary Oaks Golf Course
Played On 08/04/2018Significant improvement
Great layout. Bunkers are finally improved, tee boxes and greens in great shape. The price is unbeatable and the newly opened club house is very nice. As a bonus, there is also shower in the clubhouse.
Golf Club at Cinco Ranch
Played On 08/03/2018Great neighborhood course
This course has everything a great Houston suburban course can offer. It is relatively more expensive than the courses on the east side of Houston, but it is in nice neighborhood so it is understandable. Most interesting is probably hole 11 which needs smart shot from tee box with a long iron to avoid ball rolling downhill right to the pond. I would suggest to put the scorecard and some description of holes on the webpage.
Panorama Golf Club - Rolling Hills Course
Played On 05/11/2018Great course
3x9 holes course with just opened 19-27 (Rolling hills) that is in great shape. Bucket of range balls is included in the price. Staff is friendly, food is great too. Fast and smooth greens will test a player's short game.
Legendary Oaks Golf Course
Played On 03/31/2018Good course, but bunkers need to repair
Overall good experience with exception of the one of their employees - the older lady at the reception who was rude to me and to other customers including one member. Being friendly cost nothing so this is certainly the easiest step for the course to improved. The course conditions could have been better. Bunkers have practically no soft sand, hard as dirt and full of water which doesn't soak. Fairways and greens are ok, but nowhere near the quality of for example Moody Gardens. Course layout is probably the best asset. Very nice and interesting holes and beautiful landscape of rural Texas. It is also very affordable so it is a good value for the money.
Wilderness Golf Course
Played On 12/30/2017Cultivated Wilderness
Always love to return here. Despite very wet conditions (after several days of rains and drizzling) the course entirely playable. Bunkers were still not ready (most of course inundated during Harvey) , but they have been already worked on so we can expect them to be in perfect conditions very soon. This course is simply a pearl in southeast Texas and rightfully considered one of the best in Texas. Be careful around green on #15 where fire ants were building their anthills.
Moody Gardens Golf Course
Played On 12/29/2017A must do in Galveston
One of the best public golf courses in southeast Texas. A lot of water, moderately fast greens (mostly due to wet conditions), nice challenging #18.
The Golf Club at Margaritaville Lake Resort, Lake Conroe
Played On 12/23/2017Excellent course in Lake Conroe area
The golf course was simply excellent and great value for the money.
Red Wolf Golf Resort
Played On 12/17/2017Successfully recovering from Harvey
The golf course was completely inundated during the Harvey so the golf amenities are still in the repair mode. The course is, however, well playable and a great value for the money. Greens were surprisingly fast and in great condition.
Regulation Eighteen at Smithtown Landing Golf Club
Played On 05/14/2017Very nice municipal course
Smithtown Landing belongs to courses which are hilly, so it offers spectacular views and interesting game. Course offers a yardage book for free which is always very helpful especially for first time players.
Fairways relatively wide, but often tilted which might lead to challenges in the mid game.
Course was generally in excellent condition, greens were reasonably fast. It is not allowed to ride golf cart to the parking lot so take your golf bag from your car and walk directly to the proshop.
Pine Hills Country Club
Played On 05/12/2017Excellent course in Suffolk
This course is very flat, with long and moderately wide fairways. Even areas outside fairways are playable so it is possible to play the whole course and don't lose a single ball. Fairways are flat so the ball is always in perfect positions for ideal shots when on fairways.
The challenge is in distance, doglegs, bunkers and greens which are often deceiving. A player also has to play twice over water hazard.
The course offers yardage book with very useful advices on strategy of the game.
It is possible to ride a cart to the parking lot.
