North Course at Lake of Isles

My Wife and I enjoyed this course. The condition was good with some bumps on the greens due to recent aeration yet they still rolled true. The fairways were soft from recent rains yet very smooth. The layout is fun and will challenge your shot choices. It is only hard if you choose the wrong tees for your game or try to take on to much on your approach shots.
The staff are the best I have ever encountered. They seem like you own family is caring for you like it is your birthday. That includes all aspects; check in, Marshall's, bartenders, wait staff, management and both on course and final service attendants.
Thank You for a great day!

The course was in better condition then I have seen it in years. Lots of watering even though there is still a drought. The pace of play was great we finished in 3 hours 40 minutes. Yet even with this time the Marshall stated that people were complaining about slow play and asked us to speed up during the round. I asked the Marshall if there were any groups finishing ahead of the other groups which he said there were. However, when I checked I found that he had lied. Not sure why he did this and why he was pushing groups that had some seniors in them that were obviously moving fast for being near 90. All groups finished in under 3 hours 50 minutes. They should enforce pace of play and if the groups are on time then faster golfers need to learn to slow down. After all they can not just barrel through 10 groups ahead of them. Learn to enjoy a quick round even if you want to be first.

This course is fun to play and a great beginners style. The course does allow 5 some's and there are many areas were the group behind can not see you. You have to be careful to always make sure you are aware of possible fore situations. The course is always in good shape and often in excellent condition. It is a short course that you only need driver on a couple of holes if you choose to score instead of overpower. It is an inviting track that is great at challenging your mental approach. Learn to play this layout correctly and you will start to lower your scores on much more difficult layouts.
The main "issue" with this course is a pace of play that usually runs in the 5 hour range. So I understand the marshal trying to speed play along.
