Simply Unbelievable

I went out at 2:00 as a single and hooked up with another single. Played front nine in 2:15. Not bad….

Well, the back nine on “Queen” was overloaded at the turn. We had a nice member twosome of a husband and wife who cut in front of us on the tee and when approached, he said “tough luck” OK….

Got to the 14th hole and there was two foursomes (some weekly league play) and three twosomes on the same hole. The “league play” was involved in some crazy game that sent all the players all over the hole. Meanwhile, the sun is setting.

Called the pro shop and indicated that I paid $40.00 for 18 holes and will not make it before sundown.

They send cart guy out who said “nothing I can do about it.”

This facility is poorly operated and is in very marginal condition. Save your money and play somewhere else.

Weeds, Weeds, and more Weeds

This will be brief. This was a prestigious private club in the 70’s and 80’s. Original Authur Hills design.

It has gone down hill sadly.

Unless some money is injected into the course, it will not survive. The weeds have taken over the entire golf course.

I am hoping for a positive outcome as Cape Coral doesn’t have any quality golf options anymore .

Not worth $30 bucks. I am bummed:

Response from on 07/06/2018:
Todd, thank you for taking the time to post a review for Palmetto-Pine Country Club. We are aware of the weed pressure that we have encountered this year. After the difficult summer of 2017 (two 20 inch floods and Irma) we over seeded the course heavily for the last season. We came out of this difficult transition and into the record rainfall of May 2018, encountering a massive grassy weed bloom (mainly Goosegrass, Signal Grass, Sedge, and Bull Paspalum). In the beginning of June, we initiated a heavy spraying program beginning with greens and green surrounds then moving to fairways in the middle of June. Starting July 1, we began the third phase of our program, spraying out the non-irrigated (outer rough) areas of the golf course that will be replanted with Bahia grass as originally designed by Mr Hills. We are happy with our progress to date, but realize we still have some work remaining and feel confident that we will be able to return the golf course to top condition. We hope we have the chance to welcome you back for an improved golf experience soon.

Good shape

The greens were slow due to the weather - but this course has made some major transformations in the past 12 months.

Nice fairways with grass and greens have grass.

Plus, it is one of the better draining courses during the summertime rains.

Good price point for product.

Don't Let Name Fool You - Not a National

First time playing this new course.

Here is an honest assessment.

Course is in the middle of nowhere.
Overpriced for the quality of the course.
Greens are thin on grass, bumpy, and hard. Granted new course in SW Florida taken 3 years to soften, but they are like concrete.
Gordon Lewis is the designer. Say no more. The lay out has ZERO character. Typical for this architect who builds courses in the area for high density residential communities.

Summer Tine if FL

This course has declined unfortunately in condition over the past several years.

Greens were marginal and slow.

Weeds are taking over the entire course - too bad.

However, it is August in SWFL, so you know your going to get wet fairways and slower greens.

Great layout - always have appreciated above average hole set ups.

Old Orange

Considering all the rain we have received, the course was in great shape. 6 or 7 holes were cart path only. No big deal. Mitigating factor - super greens. Fast and no grain. Highly recommend.
