Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills - Blue Course
Played On 06/18/2021Really Nice 9 holer
The course was in good condition with tee boxes on the low end of that and greens and fairways on the high end. They had just sanded most of the greens which I found unusual this time of year so they were a bit slower than normal. Pace of play was fine with only minor delays at the par threes. We play here several times per year and enjoy the challenges and the conditions.
Evergreen Golf Course
Played On 06/03/2021Disappointing grass conditions
Given the amount of rain we got this spring, the tee boxes looked more like August than June. Fairways mowed and appropriate but not as good as they could have been with better care. Greens here are always a challenge due to the altitude and animal tracks so they were OK but slow. This course is a challenge for any golfer who cannot direct the ball and that makes it frustrating for many but fun for others. The views are gorgeous!!
Willis Case Golf Course
Played On 05/20/2021Good old muni
With an extraordinary amount of spring rain, the course conditions were green, green, green. Sand traps were not yet groomed but greens were in excellent condition. Cart paths ae in need of repair in many areas but new concrete paths have been installed in other areas. Noise from Interstate 70 is very prominent on the back 9.
Hi, Norsekid. Thank you so much for the great review. We are glad you had an incredible time, and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks for choosing Willis Case Golf Course.
Foothills Golf Club
Played On 03/18/2021Average desert course
Tee boxes and fairways in good condition but greens and bunkers were not well maintained for the cost of this course. Recommend IF you can get it at a discount.
Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the poor experience you had during your visit. The current condition is by no means the standard we strive to achieve, and we are working towards getting things up to par. Thank you for playing Foothills Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon.
Buffalo Run Golf Course
Played On 06/01/2021Bring extra balls
Tee boxes and greens in great shape but they haven’t cut the rough and balls disappear and can’t be found. Fairways are good in some areas and almost unplayable in others. We played on Tuesday afternoon and were almost alone for stretches of play. Wouldn’t go back until the rough was better maintained
Arizona Grand Resort
Played On 03/26/2018A tale of two courses
This course was in better than average condition in all regards. It offers considerable challenge to a amateur golfer given the amount of elevation change that occurs. There is also plenty of sand and water to challenge your shot-making. The front nine is largely open but the back nine is much more desert like and has both elevation changes and considerable rough on either side.
Ahwatukee Country Club
Played On 03/26/2018Needs a lot of work
Tea boxes were in variable condition with some decent and others chewed up. Fairways were in better condition overall with a few bare spots but mostly good grass. Greens were in fair to poor condition including rough spots and bare spots. This course needs a lot of money to come back to better-than-average conditions.
Creek/Oaks at Temecula Creek Inn Golf Resort
Played On 10/24/2017Good value in the Valley
Played 18 on an unusually hot day with wind. Fairways in good condition, tee boxes pretty roughed up in some parts and greens good to better condition. Fairways are generally wide and forgiving. Greens pretty easy to read. Noise from the Freeway is obvious to loud on some holes. Overall an enjoyable play day except for heat.
Douglas Golf Club
Played On 08/23/2017Surprised
This course is not in a large town and it is not a heavily populated service area. However, we enjoyed our round as the tees, fairways and greens were in excellent condition in mid-August. Lots of evergreen trees with long grass rough to challenge you to hit it straight. Overall a very pleasant experience in a small town course.
Arizona Biltmore Golf Club - Estates Course
Played On 10/30/2016Last day for cart path only
The fairways, greens and rough were in great condition but the rough had not been cut so it could get a strong start before the "high" season. Lost 5 balls, but found six. This is an open course with majestic homes surrounding it and not much variation in heights or angles. Fun to see and play and quite a bargain on the last day of overseeding.
The Valley at Eastport Golf Club
Played On 04/11/2016Needs maintainence
This is one course that really needs TLC. From tee to green and cart paths, looks like they have little or no funds to keep this course looking good. We didn't go back after our first 18 holes.
The Valley at Eastport Golf Club
Played On 04/11/2016Good value and good condition
Played 18 holes on Monday in great weather. Pace was good, greens in very good condition, fairways good to very good in April. Fair amount of water but that is SC I guess. Worst part was cart paths which were in poor condition. They should just grind up the asphalt and lay down crusher rock. This location is fairly far north of Myrtle Beach proper.
Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon - Legends Course
Played On 11/17/2015Hidden Gem
Course is owned and managed by the Morongo Reservation and apparently they have enough money so that they can keep the course in great shape and it was. Played twice on our vacation in Palm Springs and the drive was worth it. Tees and greens great, fairways in good shape even with the drought. I would go back again.
Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon - Legends Course
Played On 11/17/2015Gem in the desert
We played the Legends course on a Tuesday, late morning. The course is in excellent condition considering the drought and compared with similarly priced courses in the area. Fairways reasonable soft and greens and tee boxes in good shape. Plenty of bunkers to challenge your shots but fairly placed. There was hardly anyone on the course in front or back of us. So good we are heading back for another round tomorrow.
Cathedral Canyon Golf Club
Played On 11/08/2015Good value but course conditions fair
Played in early afternoon, tee boxes were pretty bad, greens better. We were bunched at the start but after that, no delays at all. For $30 it counts as a "value " course which is the basis of my recommendation.
Shining Mountain Golf Club
Played On 09/23/2015Hidden Mountain Gem
The course was in very good shape for late in the summer and with little rain for 3 weeks. Facilities are very nice for a small community like Woodland Park. The course marshal found our ball twice which was a first and it was good to see them around policing pace of play. Fairways in great shape, greens with a few repairs going on and tee boxes in good late summer shape. Holes are long enough for challenge but not so long you get discouraged when you strike the ball poorly.
Boulder City Municipal Golf Course
Played On 03/25/2015Green in the Desert
Not sure how they keep this course so green in the desert but it was in late March. Straight fairways of medium width for the most part with greens slanted to the front, some quite steep but consistent in roll rate for the most part. Staff was no help and seemed only interested in their "regulars". Big signs about no coolers everywhere and then no beverage cart out all the time we were there-go figure.
WildHorse Golf Club
Played On 03/23/2015Solid Public Course
The staff was very helpful and friendly. Course conditions were very good on most of the fairways and greens, spotty on tee boxes and off the fairway. Greens were not hard to read for a first-time outing. Some evidence of deferred maintenance by the City of Henderson. Overall a great buy through Golf Now for 18 holes and a cart. Did not eat or drink on site,.
Cave Creek Golf Course
Played On 10/28/2014Public course with public conditions
The course had recently been over-seeded so we were required to use the carts on the rough or path which was just fine. Greens were in very good shape with fairways dotted with dead spots here and there and almost no growth in the true rough. Pace of play was fine and staff professional but not overly helpful.
Park Hill Golf Club
Played On 09/10/2014Great Value and fun to play
The course is in excellent condition for a public course in part due to the amount of rain we have had in Denver. The greens were really nice, even and soft for landings. We played an extra 9+ holes for $10 each and the weather got better with every hour. Good course for beginners and fun for others especially on the weekdays.
