Pace of play is glacial

Course itself is beautiful and interesting. Played on a Tuesday afternoon, started three holes back of the people in front. Caught them quickly, pace of play is so slow. I know it is the South and more relaxed, but come on

Great day, great golf

Course was in great shape, weather was in the upper 60's. Recommend this course to all. It is a fun and challenging course. We did not run into any traffic until about the 15th hole.

Greens were super fast, fairways played nice, and overall the course was in great shape

Ok

The staff was excellent, super friendly and helpful. They had just over seeded a few weeks ago, so the fairways were in decent shape. The greens were really slow and not very good condition. Shorter course that was a bit tricked up. There are better choices for the money, but my family planned lunch at the Tonto, and I figured I would go golfing after. So a big meh!

Excellent

Played here a day after Founders course. They had done the overseeding here a few weeks ago, and the course is in great shape, very green and lush. Greens were a bit slow, but rolled good and were in good shape. The layout is beautiful with the rocks and desert landscape. Great views of city and the other side was the foothills. Clubhouse on top of giant granite rock, and on the last hole tou drive by vineyards

Overseed

Coming from CO, no idea about this overseeding thing. Turned out I had one of the last tee times before they closed. Course was very dried out and not in greatest shape. You can tell in prime season this would be a great layout.

Very nice course

Played on a Sunday, the weather did not look too good, sprinkled for two holes, then the beautiful CO sun came out.

Very nice practice area, range, putting greens, etc. The staff was super friendly. For this price, the carts could use GPS systems.

First few holes seemed pretty straightforward, then it gets a bit interesting if you have never played here before. There were some places that you were not sure where to hit to.

The back nine is very up and down, and some of the holes are quite tight with the trees. Make sure you check out the view from the black tees on 18.

I would definitely recommend this as a nice splurge. But a little pricey for me to play too often

Nice Muni Course

I played on a Sunday afternoon to avoid watching football. Beautiful day, paired me up with three other guys who were all pretty good. Always more fun when everyone is about the same ability level.

Course itself was in very good shape, the fairways and greens were very watered with a few spots in the fairways that were a bit mushy. We have not had any rain in like a month, so the areas that were not watered, were quite dry.

Front nine is pretty open, you can see pretty much where everything is and will play to. Back nine is very different, more woods and more hills with some blind shots.

Greens were very fast, you had to land balls before and roll them on.

Overall very nice course, it is out in a bit of nowhere, but worth the drive.

Crazy greens

The course itself is not terribly hard, but as all the other reviews have mentioned the greens are evil. I have not four putt a green in a long time, and I did it on the first hole.

On the front nine, I hit 8 of 9 greens and still shot a 43 because of 23 putts. It is not that they are all fast, they are a bit inconsistent. Some parts of the same green are super fast, and then parts are slow. Just not the same everywhere. Also there is a lot of subtle breaks in the green

Nice Muni Course

I played on a Friday afternoon, seemed like the entire down of Denver was trying to sneak out and go golfing. Front nine was pretty full of people, but a lot of people were only playing nine holes, including the threesome I was paired with.

Course was in good shape, greens rolled good, the fairways were mostly in nice shape, the rough was pretty short, so not playing the hardest. Not the hardest course in the area, but not super easy either.

Since I got a later in the afternoon tee time, the ranger was adamant about the carts back at a certain time, and made it a point to drill it into your mind.

The driving range was horrible, no grass on the tees at all.

Pretty straightforward course

Booked a Saturday afternoon, they just finished a morning outing, so barely anyone on the course. So pace was good.

Course itself is not that hard, kind of flat, you can visualize most of the shots, nothing too baffling or imaginative. Course is not super long, rough was there but not difficult. Some of the shorter par 4's are not too hard. The par 5's are not super long either. Greens rolled nicely.

Normally I play in the mid 80's, and I shot a 77 with not putting great. Kind of an average municipal course, not too hard.

Country mountain course

On a drive back from Albuquerque to Denver, I looked up GN to see what was available, and this popped up for $10. So I booked it, quite a drive off the highway, but was up in the beautiful mountains and the weather was great. About half an hour from Las Vegas, NM, so out there.

Course was quite short, played from the tips, but you really need to stay in the fairways. Tight with lots of trees and quite a few blind shots. Some really forced layup locations due to the doglegs, and if you have not played the course, somewhat baffling where you need to go.

Overall, I would play it again on one of my drives between Denver and Albuquerque.

Nice Muni Course

Pretty straightforward muni course that gets a lot of play. Greens were in good shape, there were some spots in the fairways where it was quite wet, but we had a lot of rain recently.

Course itself was pretty straightforward, not too hard, you can pretty much picture all the shots from the Tee box, nothing too hidden or scary. Pretty average muni course

Beautiful Mountain Course

It was 100+ degrees in Denver, so decided to head up into the mountains for some cooler golf. Had a super cheap hot deal, so jumped on it, a bit of a drive, but it is a very pretty drive, just figure plenty of time to get there.

Course is in among some nice houses, the clubhouse is very nicely done, the staff was super friendly, and includes driving range.

Got paired up with someone who lived in the area, so got some tips through the round from him. Course is a bit challenging for the first timer, it is a bit hard to know where the course goes. There are a lot of blind shots with lots of doglegs both left and right. Also lots of native grass that is very deep, so it is very challenging. I would definitely score better having played the course once or twice. Conditions were very good, a little bit wet in a few spots, but with all the rain in the last few weeks.

I enjoyed it, it is worth the drive from Denver if you have time

Always seems to be windy here

Have played the course a couple of times, but always seems to be windy, either from decent to gale force winds.

Greens are firm and putt very well. Fairways in good shape, and if you have not played here before, you need to study your shot before hand on some shots as it is kind of hard on some holes to know where it goes. Also watch out for houses on some holes.

Greens fee includes free driving range, so make sure you get there early to get some practice.

Super fast greens

Course was in good shape, but the greens were lightning fast, putting was a challenge, if you hit a shot from the fairway it was hard to get it close to the flag. So the takeaway is that the greens are lighting fast.

Staff was friendly, clubhouse is nice, overall the entire place was very nice.

I just can't believe the normal rates, pretty pricey, but if you find a hot deal, it makes it worth it.

Nice old course

Got there early, paired up with some friendly walkers. Older course, typical municipal course. There was some construction due to some improvements, but nothing that got in the way of play. Price was not too bad, but keep in mind this is a very busy course that gets a lot of play, so quite busy if you play during the peak times.

Kind of wet in places, but they got lots of rain the last few weeks. The first few greens are very flat, and then it changes, there are some undulations.

Overall, nice course, and I paid $18 for a hot deal.

Cowtrack

Nice country side golf course, not sure of all the great reviews. It is a fairly basic country side course. I am not a "course snob", but don't go in expecting too much, and you will have fun. It has nice views, the people were great and super friendly.

If you plan on driving from someplace far and expecting a resort course, this is the wrong place for you.

I definitely recommend it if you live close by, but not worth a long drive.

Nice country course

Quite a slow round, but it was Labor day, and there were a lot of people out. The cart paths are dirt, but the course is out in the country, so don't expect perfection. It was not the most difficult or longest course, but it was fine for the rate that I paid.

November Golf

Weather was cold and clear, also being Nov, you cannot expect the course to be in tip top shape. Played for $28 each, so good deal. Beautiful shorter course with lots of bunkers and the greens had lots of undulations. Can't wait to play next summer when it is nicer
