Fort Belvoir Golf Club - Woodlawn Course
Played On 05/10/2017Ft Belvoir Woodlawn Round
Played the Woodlawn course in the middle of the week for the Golf Now price of $15.00 (including cart). Course was in fair shape, except for number 14 which seemed to be a hole they just made a week ago from someone's pasture. Greens were mowed close, dry, hard and not unlike putting on a pool table. For a military course with lots of traffic, the course was in reasonable shape and the only real hassle was my Garmin taking me to two gates to the base that seemed to have been closed quit awhile ago. All in all, this was a very good deal for the money and worth playing.
Forest Greens Golf Club
Played On 02/23/2017Forest Greens Round of Golf
I found my round of golf at Forest Greens to be very enjoyable and a good bargain for the money. They course was challenging, but fair and in pretty decent shape for being the middle of February. The fairways were brown, but what do you expect for this time of year. I will play this course again in the future and recommend it for golfers of all skill levels.
Old Hickory Golf Club
Played On 10/19/2016Old Hickory Review
I played Old Hickory during the week when I thought everyone else would be at work and found the course was having a charity tournament. In spite of the shotgun tournament, the starter was able to put me in a group with 3 other golfers not involved in the event and we played at a pleasurable pace. The course was in good shape, and the greens were fairly quick. The driving range though is in need of a total makeover. Many of the range balls are cracked, the range is only of sufficient length to hit your irons (5 iron or below) and you have to hit your woods into a net that is only 10 yards in front of you (and torn at that). Other than the driving range, I would highly recommend this course to any serious golfer.
We are happy to hear your experience was a good one. You are correct that the dormant bermuda fairways are brown during the winter. When warmer temps come they will come out of the winter sleep to an emerald green. Please come back this spring when the entire course is in full bloom.
