Bali Hai Golf Club
Played On 12/10/2018Fun play, but bring your own clubs.
Course layout is great, grass is a little this in the fairways this time of year. Some dirt showing.
The only real conplaint? I decided to rent clubs for once rather than fly mine down with all my equipment for work. Huge mistake. The rental fee is $79 for VERY used Callaway irons and woods. Like scratched and dented very badly. Grips warn, and graphite shafts on all the irons. Not what I was expecting when they said they had stiff and regular varieties of the best brand new callaway equipment.
As I was leaving to pro shop she asked me if I had brought golf balls? No, because at every course or resort I’ve ever been to... they are included in the price of the rental clubs. Especially for $79. The most I’ve ever seen for rentals was $69 at Pinehurst to play the US open course...
So I had to buy an $18 sleeve of Callaways because they don’t carry any other brand of balls... this is a really lame ploy to sell balls that no one wants. If you’re going to make people renting buy their balls, at least give them a choice of balls they might actually like to pay for.
Springtown Golf Course
Played On 11/27/2014Worst Employee's I've ever dealt with
I was visiting family in Pleasanton and decided to book a tee time on Golf Now for thanksgiving morning.
I booked the 8:30 am slot on Thursday the 27th for 2 people, and I arrived 15 minutes early. I walked into the pro shop, and no one was behind the counter. After a minute or so an older employee walked up behind the counter and stared at me. No words were said. no greeting.
Transcription of our conversation:
Me: "Hi, I booked the 8:30 slot for 2 people on Golf now"
He begins to look down his paper print out with tee times listed on it. Again, no words.
Me: "Oh, and we were going to try to grab a cart too."
Employee: "No you're not."
Me: "Oh?...."
Employee: "I just sent out a big group and they took all the carts."
I turned around and saw an entire cage full of carts right next to the pro shop.
Me: "Ah, gotcha. Are none of those carts operable?"
At this point the gentlemen takes off his glasses leans over the counter and says verbatim: "Did I stutter or something?"
Me: "You don't have to be rude, I asked a simple question...."
Employee: "You can leave now."
Me: "...Fine, this place is a joke anyway."
At this point the guy is chasing me out of the pro shop and follows me all the way to my car trying to carry on this confrontation in front of several families and other golfers.
I have NEVER seen such unnecessarily rude treatment at any business, let alone a golf course. I didn't even want a cart that bad, I asked a simple question and got kicked out of the course and swore at by this old guy with HORRIBLE breath and manners.
With the golf industry the way it is now days, I wouldn't expect this type of treatment by anyone. I would recommend you get rid of that guy or relegate him to maintenance as he has absolutely NO BUSINESS greeting and servicing customers of any kind.
My parents live in the area and are avid golfers, and will be sharing our experience with everyone they know.
Blue Heron Golf Course
Played On 06/07/2014Course has plenty of room
Huge grass driving range, really wide fairways on some holes. Some water but not too tricky.
My only complain was the greens. Some of them had patches of sand in the middle. Huge chunks of grass missing. Kind of disappointing. Also, the grass clippings were still on the ground everywhere so shots tended to die and I even lost a couple of balls that definitely landed in the fairway but I couldn't ever find them. I'd play it again though I had fun.
