The Amelia River Club

Just ok. Definitely not worth more than 70$ to play. The fairways were pretty beat up, but greens were good…. Just a little fuzzy and hard.. no ball marks being made. There was no water on the course and no beverage cart. The facility’s were nice, but out on the course I felt the grounds should have been better kept. Dead palms and lots of debris that just need cleaning up. They need to tighten up a bit for 150$ golf.
Bent Creek Golf Course
Played On 03/11/2024Great Value
Great course and one of my favorite layouts for a neighborhood track. One of the best practice areas around. A few bad spots on the greens and fairways, but they roll true and spring will take care of the rest. The beverage cart service is a plus. My only negative is that I have had two different starters rush me through my warm up. I get to the course an hour early to warm up. They tell me in the pro shop I have plenty of time when I purchase balls. To 5 mins later on the practice tee to have my name yelled across the practice tee that I am up. 20 mins before my tee time. I tell them my tee time and that I still need to warm up and get attitude from the starter. Unprofessional of them and they need training. I do this a lot and this is the only place this happens to me. Otherwise great experience
St. Johns Golf & Country Club
Played On 02/26/2024Nice Layout.
Just pretty good….obviously sees a ton of play. Great layout. They had a starter, but pace was very slow for a Monday. 5.5 hour round. No one there to tell the groups to speed up I guess. Unfortunately someone in front of us was dragging their feet on the greens causing damage. The greens were some of the fastest around and in GOOD shape..not excellent. The holes were fuzzy around them and needed relocating yesterday lol. The fairways had soooo …many untended divots. Golfers not using the sand provided, but the course should go around and take care of a few as well. Probably better in summer. Worth 50-60$ right now in my opinion.
Clinchview Golf Club

This course was in great shape. The greens are crowned domes on most holes, but very fair and hold approach shots well due to the softness. The course over all was not long, but really like that the par 3,s are all strong distances most between 175 and 210. The tree lined fairways are the real challenge on this course, but no other hazards really in play. Some elevation change, but no hole more than a club or two different on calculation of approach. I do wish they at lease had a starter on #1 and you have to be careful for beginners spraying the ball all over with no “four” warning. No beer in clubhouse and did see any water on the course. Get out early before the hackers and you will have a nice pace Greens were nice, but could be better if folks would repair their ball marks. All in all it was worth my drive from K-town and views were amazing. I don’t think they see beer, which could be a deal breaker for some. A strong 3 stars.

Millstone Golf Club
Played On 08/24/2017Great course
The greens are large and fast the way they should be. The undulations on the greens increase through the 18 for a fair but increasing putting challenge. Fairways, fringe and rough cuts are well defined. The layout is awesome with lots of variety to keep the round interesting. Not a long course, but pleanty of challenge from the tips. Worth the drive from Knoxville. Will be back for sure !
Wild Laurel Golf Course

Beautiful property, but poorly maintained. No beer is sold at the course and pro shop had limited merchandise over all. The employee in the pro shop was very nice and seemed to be running the entire course alone. The main problem was that the fairways and rough were not maintained properly. I lost 5 balls that rolled into the first cut that was 6 inches deep. Fairways had lots of weeds which unfortunately will be dead spots next year. The greens were actually very nice, but just off the grass was too tall. Had to roll my ball in most fairways due to the hight of the grass and weeds. I use to like this course even though there is no range to warm up, But i will save my gas next time. We had a good discount rate, but lost 20 dollars worth of pro v's so not worth my time and frustration. Good luck.
Williams Creek Golf Course
Played On 04/28/2017Best par 3 ever
I have been playing golf courses all around the southeast for over 20 years. This is the best par 3 hands down. Lots of variety and the greens are a good, if not better than any of the private regulation courses around.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting The Amelia River Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.
